I think the clothes he was wearing may have leached their colour when he got wet. Years ago before 'stone-washed' new blue jeans always left blue dye on your legs :lol:

Chart topper Will Young yesterday swapped the glamour of the stage for the grit and grime of a run-down former textile mill.

 

The former Pop Idol winner, whose career has skyrocketed since he beat Bradford’s Gareth Gates eight years ago in the TV talent show, was under the spotlight at Dalton Mills, Keighley.

 

The Grade II listed building was chosen for the set of his latest venture into acting.

 

He was filmed among the ornate cast iron pillars and ornate ceiling supports in part of the mill still to be renovated, shooting footage for his leading role in a supernatural thriller called Bedlam.

 

His appearance caused something of a stir at the mill, part of which is occupied by a number of businesses.

 

Andrew McVeigh, of the charity Take Hope Yorkshire, said: “It’s very exciting for people here. I think the location is ideal. It was used in the past to film the BBC serial North and South.”

 

The £3 million production is being made for Living TV and is expected to be broadcast on Sky next year.

 

It is the television company’s first move into making an original TV drama and is set in a former pre-Victorian lunatic asylum being converted into loft-style apartments where things start to get spooky.

 

Will Young plays a character desperate to find out why his brother has died.

 

It is not his first venture into acting. He was in one of the ITV Miss Marple episodes and was recently on stage in Noel Coward’s The Vortex.

 

The six-part series is being made by Red, a Manchester-based independent production company.

 

 

 

Living, the digital television company, was recently sold by Virgin Media to BskyB for £165m.

 

Claudia Rosencrantz, the director of television for Living TV, said: “We’ve been searching for ages for the right idea to launch Living into original drama, and Bedlam is the perfect fit.

 

“It’s sexy, stylish and truly scary. It is about very frightening things happening to very beautiful people!”

We shot the promo for Bedlam this week. I don't want to ruin it for you but I will say that I had to get veeeeeeery physical and I've ended up pulling my back out. I'm sure it will be worth it and I cannot wait to see the finished product! I tweeted a sneak peek of the set HERE.... That bed was NOT comfortable! We're half way through shooting the series now. 3 episodes down... 3 to go!
