August 18, 201014 yr Author There has been an European version of these Youth Olympics every two years since 1991 (1995 edition in Bath) as the European Youth Olympic Festival, and it was Jacques Rogge who came up with the concept, and no wonder that when he became the IOC president, he would want to take it to worldwide level. As eJackulate said, the next edition in 2014 will be in China (Nanjing). The first Winter Youth Olympic Games will take place in 2012 in Innsbruck (Austria).
