Posted August 20, 201014 yr Friday 27th August The weekly unofficial look at whats been happening this week on the chart front. Based on averages & average sales for the time of year, all put together by our friends at DTR. Today I think, I had the luck of old Reilly. There I was down the Bookies, meant to back the Favourite in the 2.10 at Thirsk. I put my money on the 1.40 race by mistake, & won. Where as the race I should've done, lost! It took Kiri Te Kanawa to knock Bryan off on 21st Oct 1991. Of course, Radio One disagreed with that because they had it down as U2. Possibly a lot of popularity & interest in that comes from Smooth Radio, who had many enquiries weeks before the release. I pretty well think that Smooth is doing rather well these days, & is probably the commercial version of Radio 2...but much better! Even more annoying is the fact, that the Smooth playlist doesn't get used on the ever daft Big Top 40. Hang On...
August 27, 201014 yr Author isn't Start Without You released on the 6th? Yep, you are right Steve. Someones given me duff information on that.

Don't forget to hear a complete countdown of the top 40 based on iTunes & physicals, join Jason Scott this Sunday at 4pm on http://www.thesuperstation.info Retro fans join Richard Todd & me, on Sunday at 2pm on Atlanticoldies2ng for a look back to August 1976, when the Bank Holiday was also a wash out, after 3 months without any rain.
August 27, 201014 yr Author Also isn't Katy Perry's album out this Monday? I've changed that one. And of course Katy will top the album chart, this time next week for sure.
August 27, 201014 yr Nice to see Rumer at #1 in the physical chart, I never though that would be such a hit
August 27, 201014 yr Im shocked at Rumers success, I dont even know her- Taio Cruz 11 in physicals?! that really is surprising :o Olly Murs could well get it as he has downloads and physicals and doing very well on pre-orders- although obviously, Katy is still in contention hope the fact their doing well on pre-orders means the Manics can get another top 10 hit
