August 29, 201014 yr And it's been confirmed for an October release date. ;) The album was also confirmed for a July 2009 release. I don't believe her anymore. I want a REAL date, not a month.
August 29, 201014 yr She wouldn't be touring if she was dropped would she? well, the label doesn't have anything with her touring, does it? But still, NOT releasing this album will be a silly idea anyway. In the UK it will still be sold of like 20k I think, also it will be eaten up in Russia, Ukraine etc. Plus, she has a bunch of devoted fans from all over the world. The album release will still bring the label quite a good revenue.
August 29, 201014 yr Regarding album sales, the key question for Fascination at the moment is how a new Sophie album of all originals will sell compared to a Sophie greatest hits album that contains several original tracks. It wouldn't surprise me if the number-crunchers at Fascination believe that an all-originals album will be bought by only die-hard Sophie fans (based on the low levels of sales and airplay for recent singles), while a greatest hits + new tracks album will appeal to both die-hard fans (who'll be upset at not getting a full album, but still buy a greatest hits for the new tracks and to support Sophie) AND casual music buyers (who are more apt to buy a greatest hits album during the holiday season because they probably don't have Sophie's individual albums). While I want an all-originals album, I fully understand why a greatest hits + new tracks album might be on the table, and I'll gladly buy whatever is released this fall.
August 31, 201014 yr A lot of people keep asking her if the album's no longer being released on Twitter, and she still assures us it's on its way.
September 2, 201014 yr http://sophieellisbextorfans.blogspot.com/ according to the above website, the album is still getting released.
September 14, 201014 yr The album was also confirmed for a July 2009 release. I don't believe her anymore. I want a REAL date, not a month. + A lot of people keep asking her if the album's no longer being released on Twitter, and she still assures us it's on its way. The common belief is she is lying her arse off especially since this isn't the first instance of such behaviour from her as chart success has progressively deteriorated. She's not stupid - she must be well aware she's used up all the chances for her level of success + her music career is now dead as a dodo (i'm sure + hope she will find somewhere else to put her doubtless talents(she would not have lasted as remarkably long in pop as she has without them) to good use (as well as being a smashing Mum etc) - even if its behind the scenes like the similarly talented Cathy Dennis  - but thats doesn't stop her from finding it hard to admit that blunt reality to her devoted fans. re: Kaushik - i can imagine him ending up on a mental ward if things progress as the neon flashing writing on the wall :( Edited September 14, 201014 yr by sn802
June 6, 201114 yr Kaushik as predicted - a lesson in the LIVING HELL of delusional fanatiscism...... Kaushik devoid of any ironic wit "explains to himself" why Sophie's new album "MORE than GUARANTEED, INSTANT Career Termination....in ONE EASY STEP!" is being universally ravaged by critics + how her next album (yes N-E-X-T, NO you weren't suffering an acute hallucination this "comedy act" thinks there is going to be a NEXT album from Sophie despite every possible indication of her career, over the past few years to (especially) the present acutely contradicting such a possibility (eg all relations to chart performance, non acceptance of todays single + albums buyers, media, to the general population as a whole(unlikely she is even presence in their consciousness/any degree of their concern ) combined with her lack of effort, interest + focus she now gives her music career with preference to motherhood as evident from the ridiculous/unfeasible number of delays/overall delay of release - WTF does she think she is, Kate Bush? - looks like Kaushik's degree of delusion is unsurprisingly highly infectious - poor Soph :snif: )will reverse this situation to further his insanity he already has *chokes on toast* exclusive knowledge of the NEXT album (5th) direction ("live sound"). THEN just when you are secure in the belief the threshold of sanity has been reached, he shoots a KILLER curve ball - who she will work with on (her) album #6  from pinkpositiveprejudice; I think i finally understand the hate towards this album. Sophie has shown growth as an artist, yes. But all her albums (except Shoot) have sort of been in the same league. Dance-pop songs that would have been top ten hits in the 80's. Maybe there is something called too much of the same thing. <*MENTAL HEALTH WARNING*- your mental health may be permanently affected - professional supervision advised: acute fanaticism contained in the following sentence> We, as fans, are mostly happy with anything that has Sophie's vocals on it. But it isn't necessarily the same with the critics. I think the fifth album will be a breath of fresh air, and will definitely get better reviews than this one. Maybe it is time that Sophie changed her direction - reinvented herself. Go for it Sophie, you made the right choice by going for a live sound on the fifth album. (i still so badly want more RX and Freemasons collaborations but she can always go back to them on album #6)
June 19, 201114 yr I think this was her last album as did seem a bit rushed! She should be dropped soon.
