I've heard this on the radio LOADS. It's definitely a grower but I still don't think it's as good as Nadine's effort. It's obvious which song will be more successful though. I have to admit that the 'alouetta' nonsense is GENIUS too.

I havnt heard it on the radio once yet i bet when the x factor performance the song will take over the radio like fight for this love did.

I've been completely addicted to this song over the past few days, it's fastly becoming my 2nd favourite Cheryl song!
it hasnt been getting airplay in dublin as of yet. does anyone know when it radio will start playing it
Ok so with the help of google i've found out that she seems to be saying "Alouette ouette ouette" but does anyone know what it actually means?? It's really annoying me! Still haven't decided what i think of the song but that bit is annoyingly catchy and i just wanna know exactly what the hell she's going on about...

"Alouette" is a reference to an old French song for children : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alouette_%28song%29

Basically, "alouette" is French for "skylark", and she sings "skylark(-lark-lark), spread your wings, skylark(-lark-lark), I'll pluck your wings". So it quite covers the lyrics of the French song and it is a reference to the verses ("before you spread your wings", etc.).

one of the lines - Alouette-ouette-ouette, plumerai les ailes - means - Alouette-goose-goose, pluck the wings - in french on google translator!

Bad news : Rihanna's "Only girl (in the world)" is out the same week as "Promise this" :(
I never noticed Mark Ronson's Bang Bang Bang also had that "alouette, je te plumerai la tête" part! :o
New in the C-List Radio 1. :) No surprise here but still. Nadine isn't here though but she's released the week later.

i heard it twice on the radio today

c listed on radio one way ahead of release!

heard it out on saturday night

finally bloody loving it! the alouette bit is amazing!

Being French myself, I explained the French bits above your post ;)

yea i posted a minute after you so it was an accident

ah i would rather see Rihanna go to number 1 instead of cheryl. only girl is better
The release date is so far away

I thought Rihanna was released on 8th of November?

I'd rather RiRi #1 :(

^ Here here, 'Promise This' is okay as far as Cheryl singles go but Rihanna deserves the topspot way more.
