01 - I know! Took me long enough! I have continuously loved it for over a year now so it really does deserve at least a week at number one, plus both videos for it are modern classics :wub: . Looking forward to hearing the album now!

02 - Nor did I, but I have suddenly started to adore it this week, the lyrics are so divine. Really beautiful song :wub:

21 - Both of them have kind of blended into one song for me :lol: . I'm surprised I didn't chart Amazing last year, must have not liked it enough as I definitely heard it through The Countdown.

31 - It may grow on me, but like I've said, this is my least favourite SEB single for a few years now.

35 - I know :lol:, I decided that at 40p it was worth downloading, it's one of the better songs of it's genre.

48 - Completely agree there.

1. I'm very glad to see it at the top anyway :D I still haven't listened to the album, although I downloaded it - been watching Birds of a Feather on DVD all afternoon :drama:

21. They're similar I guess but Hot packs more of a punch I think, and the UK radio edit of Amazing is truly abysmal :lol:

31. Shame, it's my favourite :lol: At least since Catch You.

 

Good to hear. Definitely not bland, it's a highlight of it's genre imo, her quirky voice really shines and the songs have either character or beauty, rather than just the nothingness found on a lot of singer/songwriter albums. A really varied mix of songs, I adore about 8 of them and like the remaining 2.

Wow, what an incredible chart run. Co-incidentally, 'Wonderful Life' is also a re-entry in my chart this week but a bit further down. However, Hurts did top my chart with this slice of 80s synth pop gem back in January. A shame that they haven't captured the UK public's imagination in the same way they have the Europeans.

I'd been avoiding this song as I just imagined I wouldn't like this song based on Ellie's last two singles. I was clearly wrong. :o This is easily the best track by Ellie Goulding I've heard. It really is such a lovely song with a really strong melody.

Just listened to this song via the YouTube clip. The production on the track is slick and sharp, but sadly I don't really rate the chorus. I was listening to it building up and was expecting this massive Euphoric hands-in-the-air type chorus, but it just didn't happen. I already think it's better than 'Bittersweet' though.

One of those typically Buzzjack tracks. The ones where nearly every poster goes "OMGZ!!!111!! Dis is da best song like EVA!!!111". Having listened to the track myself, it's alright but it's certainly no classic to these ears.

1. I'm very glad to see it at the top anyway :D I still haven't listened to the album, although I downloaded it - been watching Birds of a Feather on DVD all afternoon :drama:

2. It's my favourite single of hers, easily!

21. They're similar I guess but Hot packs more of a punch I think, and the UK radio edit of Amazing is truly abysmal :lol:

Good to hear. Definitely not bland, it's a highlight of it's genre imo, her quirky voice really shines and the songs have either character or beauty, rather than just the nothingness found on a lot of singer/songwriter albums. A really varied mix of songs, I adore about 8 of them and like the remaining 2.

1. Yes, it was great! I hope the later series' all filter out on DVD eventually :D I'm finished with that now so I'm watching the other DVD I bought recently - the final season of Sabrina the Teenage Witch :lol:

31. Agreed there :wub: I loved the whole of that album though - Love Is Here actually got to #1 in my chart which is incredibly rare for an album track!

 

I didn't buy it on CD, I downloaded for Amazon when it was £3 because I was curious - I wouldn't bother in all honesty. It's nice in places but mostly completely forgettable. I love Cuckoo by her though!

Wow, what an incredible chart run. Co-incidentally, 'Wonderful Life' is also a re-entry in my chart this week but a bit further down. However, Hurts did top my chart with this slice of 80s synth pop gem back in January. A shame that they haven't captured the UK public's imagination in the same way they have the Europeans.

I'd been avoiding this song as I just imagined I wouldn't like this song based on Ellie's last two singles. I was clearly wrong. :o This is easily the best track by Ellie Goulding I've heard. It really is such a lovely song with a really strong melody.

Just listened to this song via the YouTube clip. The production on the track is slick and sharp, but sadly I don't really rate the chorus. I was listening to it building up and was expecting this massive Euphoric hands-in-the-air type chorus, but it just didn't happen. I already think it's better than 'Bittersweet' though.

01 - It's a shame they aren't as well accepted here I agree. I know they seem to be doing very well in Germany, but I'm unaware of where else they've taken off. It's all very similar to Amy Macdonald :lol:

02 - Yeah it's a really nice song. I've liked all of her singles, but this is now my favourite

05 - Only two others, If This Is Love and Up. Have you heard their new stuff? Karma is fantastic! :wub:

21 - I heard it last year sometime, but didn't think much of it at the time. I'm not sure which of the two songs I like best, both kind of muddle into one for me :lol:

31 - I'm the opposite. This is my leats favourite SEB single for a very long time, but I loved Bittersweet and also Can't Fight This Feeling too.

46 - It's their attempt at making the longest pop song ever. It's basically an extended mix of Choices... Being 45 minutes long hough makes it quite tedious :lol:

48 - I agree, it's nice but not as epic as many here would say it is.

01 - :lol:, I loved that show. Not sure I'll ever buy the DVDs. I remeber one of the aunt's, or were they sisters? being hilarious.

31 - Trip The Light was a fabulous album, some of the tracks that didn't make the cut were amazing too. Dear Jimmy is a huge favourite of mine, but I think it's only ever surfaced as part of the Popjustice compilation :unsure:

:drama: Sorry for not replying earlier, for some reason I thought I'd replied to you before I replied to Hits' post. Tiredness catching up with me no doubt :lol:

 

01 - :lol:, I loved that show. Not sure I'll ever buy the DVDs. I remeber one of the aunt's, or were they sisters? being hilarious.

31 - Trip The Light was a fabulous album, some of the tracks that didn't make the cut were amazing too. Dear Jimmy is a huge favourite of mine, but I think it's only ever surfaced as part of the Popjustice compilation :unsure:

31. Funny you should say that as I just put that Popjustice compilation on my iPod a couple of days ago and was listening to Dear Jimmy. Surprised she left it off the album.

31 - I know, really rhythmic song that wouldn't have sounded out of place on the album at all. I keep hoping she'll put it as a b-side someday because I don't like the way the song ends on the PJ compilation. I hate compilations that are a continuous mix :(

 

I haven't got Spotify, shall have to look into getting it when I buy a new computer as it would be really handy to check out albums before buying them.

31. I'm exactly the same, I refuse to buy mixed compilations. More than once I've asked shops to let me listen to dance albums before I buy them to see if they're mixed or not. Hardly great when listening to your music on shuffle and some mixed compilation track comes in - you get the beginning of the next track fading in, and then it switches to something else altogether :drama:

 

It's well worth getting. I don't use it a huge amount mind, only to check out new albums that I'm on the fence with getting. Brandon Flowers' album will definitely be one I try before I buy next week as the single's not that amazing, only 'good'.
