Just noticed that SWYW was released 10 years ago this week (well Aug 28th to be exact). Thought it was worth making a thread for what is in my view one of the greatest and most consistant pop albums of the decade. It was Rob's first huge global success with over 6M copies sold and spawning an impressive five hit singles including two #1's. From the explosive opening 'Let Love Be Your Energy' to the gem that is 'The Road To Mandalay' and all the poptastic anthems in between including some of the all time greatest Rob ballads (Better Man and If It's Hurting You, Singing For The Lonely) and the pop classics Rock DJ, Supreme and Kids', great sing-alongs such as Forver Texas, Knutsford City Limites. Not forgetting the gems Love Calling Eart (where Rob delivers one of his finest vocals) and the lyrically excellent By All Means necessary. I actually think it could be argued that the whole 'Sing' sessions including all the amazing B-sides (Toxic, Rolling Stone, Come Take Me Over, United, Kill Me Or Cure Me, Karoke Star) and obviously the #1 Eternity that is it his strongest 'era on an overall basis. So many amazing lyrics and ridiculously catchy melodies. The music was fantastic imo, and it is as close to the perfect pop/rock record as any album I've heard this past decade. Here are some great live performances of the tracks. :yahoo: Discuss Rob's 3rd album and your opinion on it.
