Posted August 31, 201014 yr Strangeeee question, but I'm doing a project on how the music industry is a buisness, and I was wondering if there is some sort of breakdown for 2009 of Britney's earnings (I want to compare how much she earns from selling music in comparison to what she makes from things like perfumes, clothing ling, endorsements, etc. )
August 31, 201014 yr Ok so none of this has been confirmed of what SHE actually makes. However I do know that in the year 2008 (when she really didn't release anything, until the end of the year, and two singles in the very beginning) she made and average of $737,868 a month. Just from music royalties, perfume lines, and small endorsement deals. In terms to 2009, I'll try my best. lol. I've read that she makes an average of about $1 off an album (she made more off Blackout and In The Zone because she had more writing and production credits which averaged her close to $1.50 per album). If we go by that then she made about 3.7 million just from the sales of her Circus album. Not to mention a couple million off of singles sales (Womanizer/Circus/IYSA combined sold close to 7 million units JUST in the US). So maybe a million dollars for every ten million sold, which is about what she sold when US and international figures are combined. The Circus tour grossed about 110 million dollars, I'm not sure how much she made from that. But it has been said that she took home about 30-40 million of that, which is good considering the cost of the shows and the cost to ship that massive stage to 3 different continents. Apparently she made about 10-15 million dollars off of the merchandise sold from the tour, mainly because she designed a majority of the items that were on sale. She then made money for royalties with her fragrance line (Circus Fantasy was introduced along with the Circus Tour). And she makes about 2 million off of that a year. Not including when she does a staple fragrance (Such as Curious, Fantasy, Believe and now Radiance... not Curious:In Control or Midnight Fantasy). She continues to be the spokesmodel for Candies and it is said that she makes about 5 million for every sign on season. (She has done Summer 2009 / Fall 2009 / Spring and Summer 2010/ and now Fall 2010.) In total she made about 64 million dollars last year off of music/endorsements/touring. In addition to the 737,000 dollars a month for royalties for past things (this number is an average of course.) The 64 million was confirmed by Forbes as well.
