Looks likely for 4 new entries this week in the top-10, shame Alesha is the bottom runner though as it's the best of 4 IMO. :(
Good start for McFly, has beaten the peak of Lies... hasn't it? I remember Lies getting to #14. Might have gone higher...

I think Lies got to #4 :P

Alexandra  to #5.

Great climb so far, how far from 4 is she.She is not doing promotion until Tuesday so hope she holds onto Top 5.

I wonder if Taio is still gaining on Olly?. It would be amazing if he hit no.1 again. I think Alex will hit a brick wall when she get to 3.

My pop bars are f**ked up but I'd guess that she is closing in on #4 now considering how quick she jumped from #6 to #5.

I hope she gets to #1 despite my dislike of the song. It would prove that BB isn't going to be her last number one single ever. Plus there have been worse songs getting to #1 this year.

I have always hated McFly but I am glad they are doing well as 'Party Girl' is actually a pretty good song :D. Anyone else think it sounds like Kesha's ' Take It Off' in parts :kink:?
Alexs song reminds me of Cheeky Girls Horray Horray its a cheeky holiday

It the actual charts it did, but I don't think it did on Itunes?

Its low quality in the eyes of most people I know. The majority of opinions on the song are mainly negative. If you like it thats fine but I think you will be in the minority.

Most of the people I know love the track. Although that's the trouble with doing a straw poll of people you know and then concluding something along the lines of:-

I guess the song being #5 on iTunes and heading for #1 kinda refutes that claim.

Hope it does go to #1, like Six I hope Alex can get another #1 to put to rest the ghost of BB.

Initially, I thought McFly were going to have the weeks highest new entry so to see Alexandra Burke top 5 already is a surprise. Then again, by holding the release until today will have probably benefitted the track. Iirc, 'All Night Long' was added fairly quietly and climbed to its peak over a few weeks. Had that song been treated the same way, Alexandra could well have had one week at no. 1 with 'ANL'.

I have a gut feeling Taio Cruz might end up reclimbing back to no. 1 again next Sunday.

Ooh Stromae only down to #23 despite the four newies above it :D Not as bad a Sunday slide as usual.

#506 for Orianthi, not really a surprise at all. What was with all the strange hype over it in this thread last week with people predicting top 10/20 for it?

Wishful thinking perhaps? :P I saw the video to 'According To You' on Starz TV one morning last week and it made zero impact on me. It just seemed to plod along and that was it.

Maybe, but it was always going to do a Vanessa Amorosi/Kaci etc... i.e. bugger all. No matter how good your song is, if your best promo is on Starz it really has no hope whatsoever  Yes it's been big in the US, but Vanessa's song was a #1 in Australia - means nothing to the UK market. Few people can get a hit based on 'it's big in the US'. Look at the Mike Posner track - top 300 on iTunes based on word of mouth, but it won't go much further until the UK promo kicks in next month, and then it will climb big time. Zero promo/exposure = zero chance of a hit.

For the record, According To You is pretty good in my opinion, if not spectacular, but maybe more suited to the musical climate of 2005? The pop rock sound hasn't been successful here in years...

I don't really like the new Script single, it probably trail off after Tuesday, I say top 15 the most. I think Olly will remain at #1 for a second week after we see his sales, Katy possibility top 5 along with Mcf*** and Alex making up the top 5 with Tail Cruz sandwiched somewhere, Alesha will be lucky to get top 10 the least.

I would agree with that, I really like According To You but it seems about 3/4 years out of date, similar to Diana's TBWML.

I think Alexandra has the #1 spot in the bag now for next week - Olly will tail of rapidly this week and Burke should have fairly decent physicals.

Actually, if McFly go top 5 at least on iTunes they *could* get the #1 with their physical advantage now I think about it... unless Alex develops an ENORMOUS lead

I can't see even McFly selling much more physicals than the 12k Kylie sold recently - and unlike her, they probably won't be selling large quantities of downloads.

Even I don't think it's *that* bad...
