November 23, 201014 yr also, how ridiculous was it that they were sitting round the campfire drinking beers, OMG ZOMBIES ARE TAKING OVER, LETS GRAB ALL THE BEER. I didn't even see that...all I saw was mass hysteria and Andrea wailing a heck of a lot. I don't even know who got killed....the only two I know got killed was that abusive husband guy and Amy....but there were more bodies I think... I wonder if Jim got bitten? I don't even know who got killed....the only two I know got killed was that abusive husband guy and Amy....but there were more bodies I think... I wonder if Jim got bitten? i didn't mean at that percise momment, i meant the fact they are in the middle of a zombie apocolypse where they should be scavenging for food yet manage to have nice cold budwisers. it was more than just Amy that got bit for sure they just didnt focus on anyone else. there was definatly more bodies at the end but some would have been zombies. i dont know if Jim got bitten, but im hoping the same will happen as what did in the comics for him, he isnt really a character of large point.
November 23, 201014 yr It's a bit worrying how they're making Jim out to be some sort of Psychic getting premonitions...
November 24, 201014 yr Solid episode once again. I agree with you Chris about the kidknapping plot - it was really good but they kind of spoilt it a little. BUT I think it was designed to show us that there are other people out there apart from the main survivors, and the fact they stayed in the city to look after the old people was quite touching. I'm really beginning to warm to Merle's brother, although I kind of get the feeling that Merle will reappear in the finale and probably try to kill Rick of C-Dawg and his brother might kill him. Anyway I can't wait to see Merle again. Bit disappointed that they only killed off 2 characters who we have seen focused. I thought they might have killed off a few more minor stragglers as there is a lot of characters, and it is hard for TV to focus on all the characters and make us feel affection for them (I'm pretty sure Rick (and perhaps Glenn) is the ONLY character who the audience feel strongly about.
November 24, 201014 yr TBH, I can see Chris' point of view.. I absolutely hated what Hollywood did with Alan Moore's masterpieces "V For Vendetta" and "Watchmen", because the graphic novels were a seriously formative part of my teenage years and the degree of literary quality in them was immense... The films just seemed completely dumbed down and faintly ridiculous by comparison, and some of the casting, OMG, some fukkin' DIRE choices, particularly in Watchmen (not so much V, more of a case there of good actors playing below their abilities)....... That being said, I've not actually read the comics here and, as a TV series I am enjoying this greatly... Mind you, I've only actually seen the first two episodes it has to be said, but so far, I very much like what I see...
November 24, 201014 yr I think Rick Could be turning into the general in the comics......He's become so..."we'll strike them all down mercilessly if they cross us *crazy face* all of a sudden :( Edited November 24, 201014 yr by Sabrewulf

Some of the casting on this is dreadful, particulary Shane and Lori, I feel the same way about Watchmen, the film was so hyped aswell but it just didnt deliver. I reccomend you check out The Walking Dead comics, obviously it's no Alan Moore, but I think they are written fantastically, definatly one of the best ongoing comic series of the last decade. I think Rick Could be turning into the general in the comics......He's become so..."we'll strike them all down mercilessly if they cross us *crazy face* all of a sudden :( I can't see that happening, that's what I reckon Meryle Dixon will be.
November 24, 201014 yr I don't really understand Shane's casting in the Tv show......I know they allow for differences in tv shows....but the actor looks absolutely nothing like the comic book character.
November 24, 201014 yr Author I don't really understand Shane's casting in the Tv show......I know they allow for differences in tv shows....but the actor looks absolutely nothing like the comic book character. i'm not bothered about him not looking the same, it's how he is being portrayed and the fact the guy is obviously a f***ing terrible actor.
November 24, 201014 yr Lori seems much more......slutty and up for it in the tv show than in the comics.....maybe it's just me. :/ Although we are starting to see a softer side to her now... Edited November 24, 201014 yr by Sabrewulf
November 25, 201014 yr Author Lori seems much more......slutty and up for it in the tv show than in the comics.....maybe it's just me. :/ Although we are starting to see a softer side to her now... yeah that's what was p***ing me off before, it's worse now as it turns out Shane told her Rick was dead, so it's like WTF no sooner than you find out your husband is dead you go and sleep with his best mate? it wouldnt be so bad if it was a one time thing like in the comics, as yanno, everyone has to get through a zombie apocolypse i wouldnt blame her, but rather than having one off sex spontaneously where she beat herself up for it afterwards, she instead was sneaking off to go and F Shane in the woods, talk about slag.
November 28, 201014 yr To be honest, even though I am enjoying reading the comics, this TV show is actually pretty damn good. The only thing that's really frustrated me is the change in Lori's character, but I can look past it because the show itself is actually pretty solid as a TV show. I think Chris' downfall was expecting a firm adaptation, whereas I think it was always going to be more a case of being closer to inspiration than adaptation.
November 29, 201014 yr Author erm. the majority of that episode was really boring tbh, i think that's down to the bad pacing we have had. CDC - no idea, wasnt in the comics, i don't know what i think of it, but next episode is the end of the season, so who the f*** knows, maybe CDC will be what the prison was in the comics, hopefully not because that ruins a great story arc (as we wont have Thomas or Dexter in that case which brought great plot points). but this is just me speculating anyway i doubt it is. one thing i could be annoyed about, but could work better in the finale anyway so i'll save my self from being annoyed (yet): They left the camp without Shane being killed, i'll be annoyed if Carl doesnt kill him as that is about the most important momment of Carl's character and it lives with him right through the comics, i thought it was going to happen in the woods but was a bit WTF as Shane hadnt gone completley crazy yet, but it didnt anyway, i still can't see how that small disaggreement would make him aim at Rick though, they could do it so much better than that, but then again they didnt do it anyway.
November 29, 201014 yr Sunday night’s episode of The Walking Dead scored a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 5.6 million viewers, both season highs, and that during a holiday weekend.

The first half was really boring I agree. Too much was strung out - but for once it also let us see a few more of the characters. The pacing is obviously an issue as well. I would imagine the CDC is there to tell us about the zombies and the process really. If its not in the comics then its probably just a plot device to tell us all what the process of turning into a zombie is like, and I would guess, the inevitable statement from the guy that there is no cure... I knew Shane would die. I think in this episode we began to see Shane go crazy, and Dale certainly noticed it. I'd guess they've changed his death to coincide with it being the season finale next week. It would surprise me at all if they left his death right till the end of the episode on a cliffhanger to be honest. Gotta say Daryl is definitely my favourite character at the moment. I'd guess a few more characters are for the chop next week though
December 6, 201014 yr Author So, the finale... Despite being the least like the comics by far (as in the whole CDC thing doesnt happen at all in the comics), this was easily the best episode of the season, but i'm still pissed off that Carl hasnt shot Shane. Hopefully next season shall be an improvement.
December 6, 201014 yr but i'm still pissed off that Carl hasnt shot Shane. Hopefully next season shall be an improvement. Well Carl hasn't even been given a gun yet.......I know not actually seeing him being given the gun by his dad doesn't mean he can't pick one up in the heat of the moment and shot Shane, but it does make me wonder what's going on with it...
December 7, 201014 yr The final 15 minutes were great. Absolutely edge of your seat stuff. So tense. I loved it. I have really enjoyed the series. There's been a few iffy moments, but there was some seriously good writing in this episode, and a lot of actors got a very good chance to showcase their acting skills, when a few times they have been let down by the script. Still waiting for Merle to show up, but I guess he'll show up sometime next season. I wonder what was whispered into Rick's ear? It has got to be something important. I don't think they have done that yet Chris for a reason. I guess casting is very expensive, and if it had happened, it would have probably been forced and not had the right impact because he is such a main character at the moment in the show. We are beginning to see their downfall even more, and it will undoubtedly happen throughout next season aswell. 6 million viewers aswell for the finale - I bet AMC are kicking themselves. Amazing for a cable channel.

Amazing for a cable channel. it wouldnt need to be forced if they got their writing together for the whole series, because unless it happens, Carl's character is pointless. the season had a really strong start and a really strong finish, but in the end, it wasnt The Walking Dead, they might aswell have called it something else, all they have used is the fact Rick was in a coma and went to Atlanta and found his family, the characters are not the same apart from the names, they might aswell just created a new gory zombie series and hyped it up just as much as the majority of the audience havent read the comics.
