The Canadian couple tied the knot at an outdoor ceremony in the coastal town of Montecito in California in front of 150 family members and friends on Saturday. The event was held under intense security with helicopters overhead and police and security guards patrolling the area carrying guns. Lavigne arrived in a vintage grey Rolls Royce, while guests were shuttled to the ceremony in grey limousines. US tabloid reports claim Lavigne wore a Vera Wang custom-made ivory strapless tissue organza wedding dress with a wrapped bodice and an applique lace beaded skirt. The couple got engaged a year ago when Whibley proposed at the end of Lavigne's European tour.
