Posted July 16, 200618 yr Probaly been posted but it's a nice lil review: Anastacia: 'In Your Eyes' Released on Monday, April 10 2006 - by Fiona Edwards In Your Eyes is a wonderfully anthemic track which does a lot to showcase Anastacia's undeniable vocal talents in her usual style. This kind of song is really the kind of song that Anastacia was born to sing, and boy does she know it. Sticking to her guns, In Your Eyes has a powerful tune which, though it could easily have been just blasted by her very strong voice, manages to express the underlying melancholy of the words. This is a song about a girl using her love to escape from a world that she finds herself trapped in - nicely underlined by the repetitive guitar bass, it manages to just support Anastacia's vocal line and in a sense let her go free even as she sings "Like a bird in the sky you help me to fly back home". One slight niggle that could be had with the song is its lack of a real climax, Anastacia-style. Though it builds nicely through the song, the final chorus when it comes is over-decorated with Anastacia using the traditional yodelling style so popular with the diva singers and not really giving it as much "oomph" as could usually be expected. Nevertheless, In Your Eyes is definitely a lot of fun, and probably stands to a lot of repetition. It's probably due to become a bit of a short-lived anthem in time.
