Early Winter is about right for me. It's obviously very good but it's just missing a little something. Maybe it's because the chorus is so repetetive.

4 In The Morning is the better TSE ballad anyhow. The Real Thing is gorgeous, it used to be a big favourite but no longer quite to the same extent for me.

The Real Thing is indeed too low.

It has amazing lyrics. Perhaps the best lyrics of all time.

JUST SAYING.

"Your a salty water ocean wave

You knock me down you kiss my face

I know the storms will always come

But I still love to have you around.

And heaven knows what will come next,

So emotional your so complex,

A rollercoaster built to crash

But I still love to have you around."

AMAZING. PERFECTION.

12 + 'Serious' + 8.000 +++ 10.0 from Jark and Theo. + 6.0 from JamesP

BOO. HISS. You can tell from the shit intro, that this is gonna be shit, but OH WAIT - after that is over, the song is pure amazing! The funky beats and Gwen's smooth vocals cement this as one of 'Love. Angel. Music. Baby.''s highlights. The chorus in particular is amazing, so despite just finishing outside the top ten, I'm glad that this managed to achieve a very impressive total of 8.0!

11 + 'Danger Zone' + 8.147 +++ 10.0 from Theo. + 5.0 from nickthenoodle

And now another from the superb bloc of Gwen's début album, and it's 'Danger Zone'! The production is slick as a beast and this song is definitely in my top three of Gwen's discography! The chorus is cool and quirky, so I'm very pleased to find out only one person rated it below five.

I should be starting the top ten tonight (hopefully!), so until then, speculate who will win or be the highest off each album!

I'm thinking WYWF? will win with Cool and The Sweet Escape top 3...

Serious is amazing - INTRO INCLUDED. Danger Zone is equally great. Both should've been top 10.

10 + 'Bubble Pop Electric' ft. Johhny Vulture + 8.265 +++ 10.0 from Nick F1 + 6.0 from Angelic Shine

This is so crazy, it's amazing! That intro is just CHEESE (but it also reminds me of 'Telephone' by GaGa, in a weird way). I know it's not amazing (what was I on when giving it a 9.5!?), but the production's quite fun, albeit slightly dated. I've no idea who Johnny Vulture is, but his tiny "participation"(? - I forgot the correct word!) is a bit random/not really credit-worthy... I don't really think it deserves to be top ten though, over the two songs that finished just below it, but it did receive a lot of high scores.

Agreed, good but not great. Johnny Vulture is just an alias for André 3000.

09 + 'Wonderful Life' + 8.324 +++ 11.0 from Tyler + 2.0 from nickthenoodle

Here we have 'The Sweet Escape''s album closer. It kicks off with a sublime intro, before Gwen's sharp vocals kick-in. This is definitely one of the sophomore album's highlights, which I only heard for the first time doing this rate! The chorus is catchy and cool, with fantastic production that hasn't really aged at all! Only three people rated this below 8.5 - which is probably one of the least on this rate! This would've probably been quite a big hit, had it been released over the novelty 'Wind It Up' - or even one of the other singles (which songs, I don't know - but I doubt they're better, or even as near enough as good as this).

08 + 'Wind It Up' + 8.382 +++ 11.0 from Parker, Chriss_S, Cremey and Robot + -1.0 from West

And now it's 'The Sweet Escape''s album opener, and also the lead single off the album. This would be 4th without West's -1, which is quite a surprise - although the points near the top are quite close. Now onto the song itself, probably most (in)famous for its sampling of 'The Sound of Music' (which song in particular though, I have no idea - and couldn't really care less!). The sample is quite irritating, although it does make it different, which is why it was so successful I'm guessing. Once the pounding drum beats kick in though, that's when you do stop and think that Gwen could've made quite a good album, but the actual chorus and even the vocals are just a bit too tacky. Infact, the whole song is tacky - I literally only like that one drum beat at the beginning, the song hasn't aged well AT ALL and the follow-up, the title track off the album is a million times better than this.

Anyway, sorry for the rant and it probably doesn't make much sense - but yeah. I should hopefully be revealing 7-5 tomorrow, possibly even more, so stay tuned!

^^ THIS.

Srsly, 'Wind It Up' is a pop masterpiece. I'll never get the hate for it. Ever.

'Yummy' is FAR too low too. :(

07 + 'Crash' + 8.588 +++ 10.0 from Chriss_S, Nick F1, Silver Rocket, West, Arrs and JakeWild + 5.0 from Angelic Shine

Another slightly irritating intro section, but the chorus is again very infectious. I doubt it would've made a very good single choice, but judging by all those 10s it achieved - it's definitely a fan-favourite! The production is slightly dated on this though, which is probably one of its only flaws (along with the "back it up" chants). I do think it should've placed a few places lower, although I'm not exactly very upset seeing it in the top ten, as the majority of the 'Love. Angel. Music. Baby.' album deserves to be in it! This is another very love-in song, with only two rates below 8.0!

Crash higher than Wind It Up?!?!?!?!??!??!?! :mellow: Talk about unfairness :(

Oh HARDLY!

Crash is great although sometimes it grates on me. I definitely have to be in the mood for some aggressive dance-pop to appreciate it.

06 + 'Hollaback Girl' + 8.765 +++ 10.0 from JamesP, Parker, Chriss_S, Tyler, West, Robot, Arrs and nickthenoodle + -1.0 from Johnkm

Now it's the third single off the début album, and this was one of my favourite songs as a 10-year-old. Despite all the explicitives, this managed to peak at #8 for two consecutive weeks in June of '05. The video shows Gwen and her Harajuku girls cheerleading and just dancing everywhere they see, basically! Although I did love this, it's kind of lost its charm for me now, although I wouldn't turn it off if it came on shuffle - if you get me! I reckon this is one of Gwen's most remembered hits, as I still see groups on Facebook and stuff saying "Gwen Stefani taught me how to spell B-A-N-A-N-A-S" and stuff.

Hollaback Girl is very decent, another one I need to be in the mood for mind. Fabulous for getting ready to go out whilst squiffy from pre-drinking.
