Liberty X Total Points - 52points Favourite Song - Just a little http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v303/keeleym/With%20Liberty%20X/li1.jpg Liberty X (originally called Liberty) were a pop vocal group formed by the five contestants eliminated from the final ten qualifiers from the 2001 ITV show Popstars. The group consisted of Tony Lundon, Kevin Simm, Michelle Heaton, Kelli Young and Jessica Taylor. The group went on to achieve ten consecutive UK Top 20 singles, and various charting singles worldwide, meaning that these runners-up of Popstars were commercially more successful than the winners, Hear'Say. While the five winning contestants of Popstars formed Hear'Say, the five rejects (who would have been the "backup" had there been a problem with any members in Hear'Say) formed the group Liberty. The name Liberty was chosen to reflect the freedom they enjoyed from not being under the rigid enforcements of the television company and record label that was put upon Hear'Say. Their runner-up status led to them being dubbed "Flopstars" by some commentators. However, this tag was dropped when they signed a multi-million pound record contract with Richard Branson's independent record label, V2 records and they soon became seen as a "cool" alternative to Hear'Say. Shortly after forming, Liberty received a legal challenge in the UK High Court from a funk R&B band called Liberty who had success in the 1990s, won Capital Radio Band Of The Year, played Wembley Arena, toured Europe and released albums in the USA, Europe & UK. The original Liberty claimed that the new Liberty were taking advantage of the goodwill that they had created in the name Liberty (which in English law is the tort of passing off). The judge agreed with the original Liberty and so the new group asked readers of UK tabloid newspaper, "The Sun" to pick them a new name. The winning name was X Liberty though the group chose to use Liberty X. Edited September 23, 201014 yr by lee wallace
September 23, 201014 yr Somewhat suprised to see Take That so low, I mean it was inevitable they'd be a quite lower down than perhaps deserved but only a few above The Wanted and below Girls Cant Catch is a bit extreme. Boyzone, not so much, since they were never partically popular. The Wanted are actually a decent band so far but I find it bemusing they have die hard fans at this point to be honest considering they've relesead a grand total of 1 whole single. Liberty X were rather brilliant at the time, quite a number of brilliant pop songs to their name. Things were begining to fizzle out for them though so it was probably for the best they split when they did.
September 23, 201014 yr GCC were really good imo, shame they never got to release one album I loved Liberty X too!
September 23, 201014 yr I didnt particularly hate GCC from what I heard of them- but they are FAR too high even at 74, Im sorry but the songs were nothing special and they didnt even release an album, not worthy of a top 100 place if you ask me  I love Keane  cant believe they've finished so low, and behind GCC there was a time when Liberty X were good- Just a Little was brilliant, but it all went very down hill from there
September 23, 201014 yr Author Imo i think just a little was that good, it gave them so high expectations from there on!
September 23, 201014 yr GCC had good singles, but their (never released) album was appauling! :drama:

Their self-titled debut album was released in Canada in mid 2008, reaching number 2 on the Canadian Albums Chart. Former member Tiffanie Anderson departed the group in mid 2009. A number of reasons have been cited for her departure. These reasons include the switch to a new record label that wanted an image change for the group, different ethics, as well as not seeing eye-to-eye on certain issues. Girlicious was originally signed to an American deal with Geffen Records, however as of early 2009, they are currently signed to Universal Music Canada. The girls' second studio album, "Rebuilt" is set for a November release. The first single, titled Over You, was released on January 5, 2010. Maniac was released as the second single off of the album on April 6, 2010. On August 31st 2010, the group released their 3rd single entitled "2 in the Morning".

The band formed as "Blink" with vocalist and guitarist Tom DeLonge, vocalist and bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Scott Raynor. In 1998, midway through a U.S. tour, current drummer Travis Barker replaced Scott Raynor. After releasing debut album Cheshire Cat (1994), the band achieved relative success with Dude Ranch (1997), now having sold over a million copies. However, the trio achieved even greater success with the multi-platinum selling Enema of the State (1999). Their following two albums maintained their popularity; Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) and Blink-182 (2003) before DeLonge left the group in early 2005, initiating an indefinite hiatus. DeLonge went on to form Angels & Airwaves, while Hoppus and Barker continued playing music together in +44. After some tragic events involving the band and its entourage, Blink-182 reunited in February 2009 and a new album is in the works. Blink-182 has sold over 25 million albums worldwide
