Posted September 13, 201014 yr I understand they're British but I was looking at their discography and noticed they've only charted in the UK and Irish charts in their two year run. What happened to the supposed Asia release for 'Up'? Did it fail to chart? What about France, Australia, Denmark, Poland, Bulgaria etc? It would probably give them more credibility and success if they ventured outside the UK for a change. America is obviously a bit of a stretch but 'Up'/'Ego'/'Work' etc could easily be huge hits if released in other countries.
September 13, 201014 yr I've wondered this. Girls Aloud and Sugababes had some success in Europe. I think The Sats music would go down well, they really should try Europe.
September 13, 201014 yr Author It could also serve as a back-up, for example if they bombed here in the UK they might be saved due to success in other countries.
September 13, 201014 yr I think the sats would do brilliant in europe? They need to start promoting. I think they will do this in 2011 and should break america hopefully by end of next year
September 13, 201014 yr It's probably just a funding issue. I think the label want to cement their status here before going abroad. If Higher does well and Headlines sells consistently well, they will venture abroad. They always said the US would get their music. Thing is, like you said, they went to Asia and it didn't really happen for them. It all comes down to whether they'll continue to do well here.
September 14, 201014 yr Girls Aloud didn't release very much abroad either. I think it's a shame because "Up", "Issues" and "Ego" could all have been big in other european countries, but I'm sure a day will come when they do venture out.
September 14, 201014 yr I've only ever heard "Just Can't Get Enough" by them here in Portugal. "Ego" got a few spins but rarely. Girls Aloud are also pretty much unknown here. "Sound Of The Underground", "Jump" and "Something Kinda Ooh" got some radio spins but nothing major. Sugababes are easily the most successful abroad.
September 14, 201014 yr I think they need to prioritise on the UK first before venturing off into the unknown. They're just getting their game back so they need to concerntrate on conquring the UK - sending them off could be a bad move at the moment. When GA did it, they had 3 platinum albums, and two #1's. If The Saturdays did it now they'd have urm.. a platinum album. They should wait a bit first :)
September 14, 201014 yr the saturdays are popular in serbia, radio plays their song... if this is love, up and issues was big radio hits here. especially up, ehicj was biggest hit in 2008 for radio b92 in my contry...
September 18, 201014 yr They would do well in germany! It's stupid that they arent trying europe, they could get some easy hits! The sugas released in europe from thet start and it works! Arent the sats on the same label as GA? they aren;t very good at making acts international? Going international should be considered when things are patchy at home...
September 18, 201014 yr id imagine they will do europe in early 2011, as album four (three, whatever!) wont be out until the second half of the year.
September 18, 201014 yr i dont understand why irish radio didnt play missing you Ah well, it got to #6 there anyway without it!
