October 21, 201014 yr Author yeah tbh every way i look at it, they are not good songwriters. Your opinion and you're free to voice it. I still think if this was in another forum (not necessarily if it was MCR being discussed, myabe another band. Paramore possibly) you'd be seeing people getting in a strop and having a go at you for 'spamming' the thread just because you said multiple times you hated them. Good job we're a tolerant bunch here ^_^

October 21, 201014 yr he is right in saying they are terrible songwriters though but I reckon MCR's bad rep comes from the amount of teenage fans they have. I'd be surprised if a lot of people who say they don't like them have even listened to any songs away from the singles that are released stuff like Demoltion Lovers and Vampires Will Never Hurt You from I Brought You My Bullets,You Brought Me Your Love. DL is probably one of the best songs they've done infact You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison, Thank You For The Venom (which was released as a single) or I Never Told You What I Do For A Living from Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge The Sharpest Lives or Sleep from The Black Parade not a surprise that people say they don't like them when singles like Teenagers are getting released for the radio and if you were ever to venture on to the last.fm shoutbox of the band it's basically teenage girls going on about about Gerard Way or something like that. I'm looking forward to the new album as I've practically liked anything they've done, I don't like all the teenage obsessed fans they have but I can live with it because the band's music is very listenable

My ex was a huge fan and ALWAYS played them. It was pain to my ears if I'm being honest. But fair enough that some people like them. I personally HATE them.

For I'm Not Okay read Thank You For The Venom, for Black Parade read This Is How I Disappear, for Teenagers read House of Wolves, for Famous Last Words read Disenchanted etc etc.
October 26, 201014 yr So, My Chemical Toilet are back with another album of whiny, (w)angsty, turgid emo crap, it's like they've actually heard records by bands like Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths and The Cure, but have resolutely FAILED to actually listen to them... In every way bands like The Birthday Massacre and AFI are superior to MCR it's not even funny..... You know what the main difference between Goths and Emos is - Goths actually get the joke and have a sense of irony, Emos think irony is something their mum does to their clothes to get creases out.....
October 26, 201014 yr I like MCR.... *runs away* No in all seriousness Na Na Na is quite low in terms of songwriting ability. As catchy as it is, when I heard it my face was literally like :| My mate went to the London gig the other day and she said that she was surrounded by 14 year old Emo/Scene kids which pretty much summarises their general appeal...

Try doing some research before you slag them off.

Try doing some research before you slag them off. Yeah, okay, all that means is they're just gonna sound MORE like Busted or McFly, and I know already that I hate that kind of music..... I dont need to do any more fukkin' "research" on a waste of space like My Chemical Toilet.. I've spent several hours I'm never gonna get back listening to three of their piece of sh"t albums, each successive one more crap than the last... What more "research" do I need to do....? "Law of Diminishing Returns" mate, and, well, My Chemical Toilet never had all that much going for them to begin with....
October 28, 201014 yr So in short... http://www.buddyhead.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/emo-its-like-goth-but-for-pussies.jpg Pretty much mate.... Oh, I tell you what made me laugh recently. A friend of mine who runs Goth club nights and promotes Goth/Rock/Metal gigs in London, and has done so for YEARS, was actually told by one of these little Emo tw@ts "You're stealing my scene".... Unfortunately, said Emo tw@t had already skulked off before my friend had finished p***ing himself laughing, and thus never got the opportunity to tell Emo Tw@t to go fukk himself.....
October 28, 201014 yr Let's face it, Emo's are public enemy number 1 in my books. It's nearly as laughable as the scene kids who go around pretending they like Death/Black metal. But yet they couldn't name you a single Satyricon/Arch enemy/Carpathian Forest song.

But yet they couldn't name you a single Satyricon/Arch enemy/Carpathian Forest song. Ha Ha, yeah, press them further and they usually say that Cradle of Filth are Black Metal.....  Arch Enemy though? You sure mate? I've always seen them as being more Melodic Death Metal personally.... Although, yeah, they were generally heavier before Angela Gossow joined, but I've never really thought of AE as being Black Metal, I would put them more in with the likes of Dark Tranquility, In Flames or Children of Bodom in a lot of ways.....
October 28, 201014 yr let's face it most emo/scene kids who listened to MCR et al before have mostly grown out of it now anyway, it's a near enough dead scene.
October 28, 201014 yr I was reffering to them as Death Metal. I put Death/Black so I thought I better include a death metal band too :P
October 28, 201014 yr let's face it most emo/scene kids who listened to MCR et al before have mostly grown out of it now anyway, it's a near enough dead scene. True, the more clever ones have since become proper Goths....

When so far each of their albums has sold more than the last?
