really enjoyed listening, Darius was exceptional -the frank sinatra was good - but was doing frank sinatra LOL the musical theatre take of the ohters just didnt work for me, it was lie listening to search for a joseph or something - very musical theatre. I would buy a CD too, just fro Darius.

if you go away wasso brilliant, thought it was spanish - as he has that proper soft back of the throat spanish accent off to a tee - so felt confused whenmeg mentioned french..LOL I thought how novel singig french with that prnounced spanish accent

Don't put it past him - that's exactly what he thought he had to do as Escamillo on PSTOS

I would absolutely love to have gone away to listen to again and again also from russia with love and t he other two also but it seems a bit of the same scenario when we wanted a dvd of his tour it never happens - I really think if he got to sing that on tv it would be like popstar to opera star again and open a few eyes and ears. I would be more than happy for the last two in particular to surface on an album.
Darius's voice is just beautiful, I know I'm biased but it really is. Would loved to have been there. I too was disappointed in MM's son, didn't like the tone of his voice at all. Judging from the sound of the audience's response they enjoyed Darius's performance as well. The Impossible Dream came off a very poor 2nd to Darius's version, but it was good to be able to compare it. Loved From Russia With Love, seemed a really hard song to sing. Sue
listening again on the radio site, and if you go away and from russia really are wonderful, the emotion in if you go away is tangible, and yup i was thinking of toreador..lol i did think it was spanish while he was singig but my grasp of language isnt great. he really was worthy of being on that stage, i have no doubt he opened some eyes to his voice with those performances, wish we could have seenhim too, as he has such stage presence visually too which adds even more

Just a little point. It's not a criticism, but.................

Has America finally made some inroads into Darius's accent or are the little americanisations temporary due to him singing all that Big Band stuff?

It was when he sang the non-swing songs, I realised Darius was singing "(k)new" as noo and "been" as bin.

I can listen to most of the programme but not that Impossible Dream, although I know it's a good solid MT performance.

BTW Matt Monro did record If I Go Away (No Me Dejes) He released an LP in Spanish.

I think the pronunciation was for the song. We'd have noticed if it turned up in interviews or meet and greets. I prefer Darius singing 'Impossible Dream'

Also, I've lost it now but there was a query on one of the BBC sites asking when the show was going to be shown on TV, saying that Michele Monro has mentioned the possibility on her website.

Maybe we better keep an eye on the schedules just in case. I wouldn't expect it to be shown on BBC1 but 2, 3 or 4 maybe.

I wonder why some singers are in black and others and the orchestra, are in blue?
I was wondering that. Thanks BT. Wouldn't it be brilliant if it did appear on TV? Fingers crossed. Sue
The blue ones are links to more information. I would have thought there'd be plenty of info for Darius and Stephen Triffitt. Maybe they feel those two have enough on google. It does seem a bit strange. It would've been nice if they'd at least posted one link for each.
