October 29, 201014 yr some smashing ones there, now i know who took the pic when darius and dame shirley posed. love the one when he is giving t some ayayayaysyay hey jude..lol
October 29, 201014 yr Author IMHO that little bit was a nice homage to some of the recognisable 60s sounds. Did the song originally have that littlle poignant bit at the end ? I don't remember hearing those lines before.
October 29, 201014 yr yes, fifteen rows closer would have been good or in the stalls where the seats are tiered. Too many tall people in front of us.
October 30, 201014 yr Not fair, my friend had a much better view for less even though it was at the side.
October 30, 201014 yr I do like this one: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/1PamP/beatles.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/1PamP/DSBeatles.jpg
October 30, 201014 yr those are the ones I love, that one of him looking down is just lovely. the other one I love is theayayayay one..I couldnt seem to save the pics fomr that site, kept saving a pixel as a gif? like my hubby, that twitter chap in the chorus said he didnt like song because darius shouldnt have changed an iconic song..which is wierd coz using a full blown orchestra and huge choir is sort of changing a pop song somewhat lol, Edited October 30, 201014 yr by prettyinpink
October 30, 201014 yr That was the whole idea - or else they'd have left the orchestra and choir at home.
October 30, 201014 yr well we could have just had a beatles cd to listen to - what is the point of such lavish instruments -if someone just does a kareoke to them, watching the original with mccartney singing on youtube..i cant say that would have had made much impact on me oh and on watching that, i noticed paul did sing get first time round, not find-
October 30, 201014 yr Thanks for the photos and links, as I said before, not my favourite Beatles song, but quite liked that interpretation. Sue

October 30, 201014 yr Author I thought the whole point all along of the Beatles Philharmonic shows and indeed their ABBA Philharmonic one, was to get contemporary singers to interpret the songs in a new way. I like it when Darius plays with his range. Others seem to want him to sing mid-range, MOR easy listening style or pop. I wasn't keen on this Hey Jude the first time I heard it because the Beatles versions were stuck in my head but after a couple of listens, I appreciated it for itself. I would buy it if it was on CD. I probably would as a download, but I want to delay jumping that hurdle for as long as I can. Edited October 30, 201014 yr by Baytree
October 30, 201014 yr totally agree, i am always wanting something more from such performances - or what is the point. someone had tweeted they had seen antony costa and liz murder ticket to ride, akin to a kareoke, i would rather not have darius accused of that Edited October 30, 201014 yr by prettyinpink
