Posted October 11, 201014 yr It's been a bumper year for hearing Darius sing new songs which, thanks to a few people, we have on audio or video, most recently 2 on FNIMN, so it's really hard to keep track. I was trying to remember them all. 4 of his own - one Italian ballad and 3 swing songs 8 from PSTOS (if we count Libiamo) That's the equivalent of one album. Falling Slowly Amazing Grace Oh Lord What A Morning Wonderwall
October 11, 201014 yr it certainly has, and every one of them worthy of hearing! I think with each new performance he gets better and better.
October 11, 201014 yr Flower of Scotland My favourite non Darius written - 'Oh Lord Wont You Buy Me a Mercedes Benz' Smile When I Fall In Love If You Go Away The Way You Look Tonight From Russia With Love. Fly Me To The Moon. I don't know whether we can count Fly Me To The Moon I've Got You under my skin as they've been sung before this year.
October 11, 201014 yr Author Flower of Scotland - he sang it at the Scotland - France rugby game at Murrayfield. Fly Me To The Moon - Maidstone. I can't remember if it was with the jazz band or acoustic though. I've got you under my skin - was the cassette b-side of one of the singles. I've got it somewhere or other. Excluding those, I count 22 so far. BTW Does anyone still have the setlist from Maidstone anywhere?
October 13, 201014 yr Author have to add Feeling Good and It Had To Be You 24 Edited October 13, 201014 yr by Baytree
November 3, 201014 yr 2 albums worth already. I would need more than just 3 new Darius ones though. Edited November 3, 201014 yr by megham
November 3, 201014 yr Author I think we had more with Dive In + B sides + tour covers +Greasemania + War Child. They could have been over 2 years though. Although if you count July to July probably everything but Sandy fits in. He's bound to sing a couple more in Snow White. Do we count the Big Band Colourblind in? November 3, 201014 yr I liked From a distance which he sang at the royal albert hall. I think it was for songs of praise.
November 3, 201014 yr i was only watching that this morning, lovely, loved his hair so watching on two levels..lol i was wondering how he would sound now doing that, now his voice has developed even more...
November 3, 201014 yr Author I was listening to the Covent Garden version of Falling Slowly. He's singing it to young girl and it's beautiful. I wouldn't mind that as a b -side or album track sometime.
November 3, 201014 yr I loved the covent garden songs he sang including especially the opera one that won him the final Really loved that as it showed off his range and what he is really capable of. Wonder if he will do Covent garden again.
November 3, 201014 yr I love that one - it was even better at Mercedes Benz but my camera was getting stroppy. I must really read the instructions one day. I've only got that as a poor audio but I liked it anyway. I still play 'I Need Thee Every Hour' as I loved that. I still play ' My Lord What A Morning' as well. I love his voice in those two even if they aren't my sytle of music.
November 3, 201014 yr I also loved Make it easy on yourself previously recorded I think by the walker bros. which he sang at the end of pop idol.
November 3, 201014 yr yes, would be lovely to hear him sing make it easy now.... i also loved falling slowely, another one i was watching lately, beautiful falsetto, especially after hearing using his deep range so often now. plus it makes me giggle as he is just so sweet and funny about the sinking stool. hubby still rubs it in that we could have managed covent garden that day, but i thought he would only sing one or two songs at most..so talked my self out of it
November 3, 201014 yr I was seeing my son back to King's cross station on his way home. In the end, Dave came with us, Dave and Charles went to the station and I met Pam and Paul. Then David came back after seeing Paul off - just in time to take stills while I videoed it. That's what husbands are for.
