One of those that doesn't get played these days. Even Gold don't play it...mind you they don't tend to play much at all. For instance, recently I was listening to Gold's Request Show with some non-chalant called Dean Martin (a likey name). Some chappy rang in & requested The Last Waltz, that enormous million seller from 1967...surprise surprise they never played it! Doesn't make you sick, to think these boring, tedious stations exist? The same 200 tracks going around 24/7! I looked at their website, & they have a list of what they've played from the last 2 weeks. Have a look, & see how many times they play Blockbuster in the given fortnight...quite mindboggling. Anyway 1979, great year for music & my fav being Every Day Hurts & Sad Cafe. They certainly had problems following it up though, but did manage with My Oh My in 1980, which sounded a bit Rolling Stone-ish. 01 02 ONE DAY AT A TIME - LENA MARTELL 02 04 WHEN YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN - DR HOOK 03 05 EVERY DAY HURTS - SAD CAFE 04 01 VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR - BUGGLES 05 03 DON'T STOP 'TIL YOU GET ENOUGH - MICHAEL JACKSON 06 09 GIMME GIMME GIMME - ABBA 07 07 THE CHOSEN FEW - DOOLEYS 08 10 TUSK - FLEETWOOD MAC 09 12 OK FRED - ERROLL DUNKLEY 10 17 GONNA GET ALONG WITHOUT YOU NOW - VIOLA WILLS 11 06 MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE - POLICE 12 20 CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE - QUEEN 13 15 MY FORBIDDEN LOVER - CHIC 14 08 DREAMING - BLONDIE 15 16 DEVIL WENT DOWN TO GEORGIA - CHARLIE DANIELS BAND 16 13 SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE - RAINBOW 17 19 MAKING PLANS FOR NIGEL - XTC 18 11 WHATEVER YOU WANT - STATUS QUO 19 23 SHE'S IN LOVE WITH YOU - SUZI QUATRO 20 14 QUEEN OF HEARTS - DAVE EDMUNDS 21 21 STAR - EARTH WIND AND FIRE 22 28 ON MY RADIO - THE SELECTOR 23 18 YOU CAN DO IT - AL HUDSON AND PARTNERS 24 26 LUTON AIRPORT - CATS UK 25 44 MESSAGE TO YOU RUDI - SPECIALS 26 33 THE SPARROW - THE RAMBLERS 27 24 THE GREAT ROCK N'ROLL SWINDLE - SEX PISTOLS 28 25 BACK OF MY HAND - JAGS 29 31 RISE - HERB ALPERT 30 NE LADIES NIGHT - KOOL AND THE GANG 31 NE ETON RIFLES - JAM 32 NE HE WAS BEAUTIFUL - IRIS WILLIAMS 33 27 LET ME KNOW I HAVE A RIGHT - GLORIA GAYNOR 34 NE STILL - COMMODORES 35 30 SPIRIT BODY AND SOUL - NOLAN SISTERS 36 43 YOU'VE GOT MY NUMBER - UNDERTONES 37 37 NUCLEAR DEVICE - STRANGLERS 38 40 I DON'T WANT TO BE A FREAK - DYNASTY 39 38 SMASH IT UP - DAMNED 40 48 SAD EYES - ROBERT JOHN The Top Pre-Order Albums this week: 01 PROGRESS - TAKE THAT 22nd Nov 02 OUTTA THIS WORLD - JLS 22nd Nov 04 MESSY LITTLE RAINDROPS - CHERYL COLE 1st Nov 05 SEASONS OF MY SOUL - RUMER 1st Nov 05 GREATEST HITS - BON JOVI 1st Nov 06 LA VOCE - RUSSELL WATSON 8th Nov 07 ENDLESSLY - DUFFY 29th Nov 08 THE GIFT - SUSAN BOYLE 8th Nov 09 GRAVITY - WESTLIFE 15th Nov 10 THE PROMISE - BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN 15th Nov Oh no, get me the cream...the big Boyle's back! :teresa: Cheryl will definately be next week's number one album seller. October 29, 201014 yr I reckon next week's albums: 1 Chezza 2 Bon Jovi 3 KOL 4 Rumer 5 Jamiroquai 3-5 could be in any order but I definitely think a Chezza and Bon Jovi top 2 Also, I'm pretty sure The Flood has been moved forward to the 8th, and Progress to the 15th. I think Westlife have also changed their release dates but I don't know what to. All quite confusing really. Edited October 29, 201014 yr by ~ braysammich ~
October 29, 201014 yr Dave - Take That and Westlife's album release dates have swapped around in the last couple of days. Take That's is now 15th Nov, Westlife's 22nd Nov. "The Flood" will now be released on 8th Nov.
October 29, 201014 yr Really surprised to see JLS Number 1 on the Singles Pre-orders.. Take That and Westlife are ahead of them on both HMV and Amazon & the last time I checked.. They were not in the top 200 on Itunes, so where are the sales coming from ? :S Expected Peter Andre to be at least Number 2 with Physical sales this week

As I believe it's the biggest load of $h!te going & thoroughly dangerous to do so. Perhaps we need a Facebook Campaign to close it down! If I were to start any campaign (as this entire Country is full of hype & various other assorted crap) I'd personally push Public Enemy's "Don't Believe The Hype" as it sums it all up well...I call for a volunteer to start a campaign for Public Enemy as Xmas Number One. Anyone?

October 29, 201014 yr One of my favourite charts from 1979 bar the #1 track, 2 weeks prior to the chart was the first time I got into the charts, listening to Peter Powell at 6pm (Tuesdays), it was also the time when my mum used to start the dinner, my notepad was handy, I was eating and doing the chart at the same time  Top 3 pre-order chart consists of boy bands :o Thanks for posting Dave P.S. Petrocelli  Friday nights 9.25pm I was an addict, one of my fave shows at the time. I wish they repeat it.
October 29, 201014 yr so Will.i.am, Roll Deep and Tinchy/Taio look the most likely top 10/20 entries next week then- but looks none of them will be number 1, that would probably be Rihanna Thanks Dave

October 29, 201014 yr I think Peter Andre will be top 15 on sunday. Not sure about Firework. I wanted KP top 5 again this week! Firework video is fantastic, my fave of hers, just love it!
October 29, 201014 yr Gary and Robbie still selling so well on the phyisical chart and surprised to see them above rihanna.
October 30, 201014 yr Thanks Dave It's that time again... are Hurts anywhere to be seen on pre-order singles?
