Yes I'm a bit obsessed with her at the moment okay hence all of these new topics but whatever, roll with me.

Which singles would you have picked from each of her albums, had it been down to you? Limit it to four each and do the Spanish albums too if you like or just the English ones. For me:

Laundry Service

01 Whenever Wherever

02 Underneath Your Clothes

03 Fool

04 The One

(I would've gone with Eyes Like Yours if it wasn't a relatively 'old' song at that point already)

Oral Fixation Vol 2

01 Don't Bother

-- re-release --

02 Hips Don't Lie

03 Dreams For Plans

04 Timor

She Wolf

01 She Wolf

02 Men In This Town

03 Did It Again

04 Spy

I still need to get to know the Spanish albums better before I could rant about wrong single choices, ha.

Lo Imprecindible would be a great choice as a single if she did it before. From Fijacion Oral album.

Whenever Wherever (March 2002)

Underneath Your Clothes (July 2002)

The One (November 2002)

Eyes Like Yours or Objection (Tango) (February 2003)

The only mistake they made with Laundry Service was not releasing The One before the Christmas rush. Objection seemed a little out of place/random. Eyes Like Yours is old but has that latino Shakira sound that everyone loved back then. I cannot imagine Fool/Poem To A Horse being hits.

Don't Bother (February 2006)

Hips Don't Lie (June 2006)

La Tortura (September 2006)

Pure Intiution (January 2007)

I think they really missed an opportunity to have a small latin hit with La Tortura. It was practically massive everywhere. Sure, it would have been a pretty big risk but following up Hips Don't Lie MONTHS later with Illegal was suicide. I doubt a ballad follow-up would have worked. They should have also gotten the Pure Intuition video out in December with that Fijacion Oral/Oral Fixation boxset and used the promotion from SEAT in January.

She Wolf (July 2009)

Men In This Town (September 2009)

Did It Again (January 2010)

Good Stuff (April 2010)

She Wolf came out too late. It was a perfect summer single and the album got mixed up in the Christmas far rush too easily. Releasing Men In This Town (which would have been a hit) in September would have had secured a little stability before the album started competing with Rihanna, GaGa etc. I'm really not sure how they could have gone with the next singles, although I do think Did It Again was the right choice, eventually. Good Stuff with SEAT or straight onto Waka Waka.

Loca (Late August/Early September 2010)

Antes de las Seis (November/December 2010)

Rabiosa (March 2011)

Releasing Loca now is ridiculous. Oh well. My imagination has an english version of Antes De Las Seis that would have been performed on The X-Factor (her first performance, that awful Did It Again one has been wiped from my memory) and done pretty big things before Christmas. It would have been perfect for all the contestants sob story moments. They'd/They'll probably just re-release the album next year after Rabiosa.
