hi everyone-firstly, i' m glad for you all;that you will have access to new facebook site, but i hope this site will be continued, since i dont have any access to facebook, using the library! & i like to keep up to date about future performances etc: i will be going to see darius tomorrow at the kings, & i'm hoping my daughter will be impressed by his live performance. by a 'fluke' i heard darius being interviewed on radio clyde2 today(lunch time). interview was really good & he sang 2 recorded songs.'THE WAY WE WERE' & 'FLY ME TO THE MOON'. the recording of 'fly me' was one & the same of that he made available on his website.! why, i wonder would he do that?! have you all heard it? & im sure darius must have listened to it! & if so.then-is there a 'mental block' present in his mentality! Darius has a wonderful singing voice & is so versatile. i had hoped that today would be another opportunity,to showcase that great voice & then he went ahead & deliberately used that dodgy recording! i'm sure he will be great tomorrow night. will let you all know how it was. regards,jeanette

Hi Jeannette :D ..........Thanx so much for letting us know ......you were sooooooooo lucky to of caught Darius on there lunchtime!! :D ...............what did he say??........did he say wether or not the other Big Band tour dates are confimed yet??...or anything about the new album??............Hopefully he'll do more interviews on other local radio's soon and on tv again so more of us can catch him too! :D

hi, was it sharon who replied? im at library at moment, & i have to tell you that i wouldnt even know how to 'post a picture', so- sorry-its a 'feat' of perseverance & luck, that im now even able to reply or post in any way! when i switched radio on the interview was already in full swing, so may have missed some. Darius said all the usual stuff & added that he was performing some new songs, to be included in his album next year. i wish i could agree with you, that i was lucky, catching this, but because of that 'Fly ME' RECORDING, I WISH I HAD MISSED IT! I'll let you all know what i thought of the show- [i've never seen a bad performance of Darius live yet] jeanette

I haven't even heard 'The Way we Were' . It's a shame we didn't know he was on. I'm very glad you heard it though. We always update this site as well. There's not the ability to put videos on here though but we always include our photos. Have a good time at The History Of The Big Bands

Hi again Jeannette :D ...yes it is Sharon............Thanx for letting us know anyway ...its a shame that you missed the very beginning of Darius' interview but at least you managed to catch the rest of it :D SAww yeah i know what its like to have to use the library ones, i had to do that for years before i got my own, and it got very frustrating not being able to post all the time and be restricted :( ....Hopeyou manage to get your own soon :)

I succumbed and decided my dislike of big band instrumentals did not outweigh my longing to see Darius sing again.

 

Stalls - not even one seat for me. Royal Circle - not even one seat. Upper circle - a few odd seats - I managed to get a fairly central one in row G. That was absolutely the best they could do for me.

 

The theatre has even had to open the gods - the 4th level, something they rarely do outwith the lucrative panto season. The seats he could offer me there were in the back 2 rows.

The foyer in the Kings is quite small and as I said the theatre is unusually busy. I hope that doesn't prevent Darius from doing the meet and greets afterwards.
