Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are goes back to #1

So we have a return to #1 for Bruno Mars with Just The Way You Are, which debuted at #1 4 weeks ago and now finds itself back at the top with its highest weekly sale of around 110k. This as you may have guessed is due to The X Factor, as the track was covered by a contestant last week. This now has a perfectly symmetrical chart run of 1-2-4-2-1, and is likely to be beaten by Cheryl and Rihanna next week.

The Wanted – Heart Vacancy enters at #2

The highest new entry this week goes to boy band The Wanted as they fill this week’s vacancy at #2. This is the boys’ second single, following up the chart topping All Time Low, which itself goes back up to #34 this week. The group’s debut self titled album is released next week, expected to make an impact near the top.

Katy Perry – Firework enters at #5

Rocketing in to #5 this week is Katy Perry’s new single, following from a performance on X-Factor. This swiftly follows in the footsteps of #1 hit California Gurls and #2 hit Teenage Dream to give Katy a third top 5 hit this year. Firework is now Katy’s 7th top 5 hit in total with only Thinking Of You and Waking Up In Vegas missing out so far. Her Teenage Dream album also occupies the #5 slot in the albums listings.

Jay Sean feat Nicki Minaj - 2012 (It Ain't The End) enters at #9

UK singer songwriter, rapper, beatboxer and record producer Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, better known as the rather easier pronounced name of Jay Sean makes a return to the upper reaches of the charts. Rishi Rich Project were an Asian music project showcasing new talent, of which Jay Sean was a member when he made his debut in 2003 with Dance with You (Nachna Tere Naal) which made #12. Under his own name he scored 2 top 10 hits with Eyes On You and Stolen making #6 and #4 respectively, followed by a few minor hits in 2008, last year he had his biggest hit peaking at #3 with Down. Jay was last seen with #13 hit Do You Remember and also featured on Kevin Rudolf's hit I Made It earlier this year. There is a phenomenon that 2012 will see the end of the world, Jay obviously disagrees as 2012 (It Ain't The End) makes #9!

N-Dubz - Best Behaviour enters at #10

UK hip hop collective N-Dubz score their 9th top 40 hit this week as Dappy & co's Best Behaviour seems to have paid off! They first came on the scene with 2006's #26 hit You Better Not Waste My Time but did not get a top 10 hit until last year when I Need You made #5 as their own biggest hit to date. They did feature on Tinchy Stryder's Number One earlier last year which hit #1. They were last seen this year when We dance On made #6 taken from the soundtrack of Street Dance. Best Behaviour is taken from their forthcoming 3rd album.

Nelly - Just A Dream enters at #11

US rapper Nelly makes his return to the upper reaches of the UK charts this week as his new single enters at #11, but is it just a dream? It seems not, as he gets his 17th top 40 hit since his 2000 debut Country Grammar (Hot S**t)! Last time Nelly had a top 10 hit was in 2005 with #6 peaking N'Dey Say, he has had 2 top 20 hits since, the last being 2008's Body On Me. Just A Dream has been released digitally without any promotion or significant airplay as yet, so expect this to become a massive hit in the weeks to come.
