Henstridge Hoping For A Baby Girl

Actress Natasha Henstridge is hoping for a baby girl when she starts a family with her new husband Darius Campbell as she has always longed for a daughter.

The Species star, who has two sons, Tristan, 12, and Asher, nine, from a previous relationship, wed the Scottish singer last month (Feb11) in a secret ceremony in California.

The couple is already making plans to have children, and Henstridge admits she wants a new addition to be a girl.

She tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "We'd love to (have children) and, God willing, we will. We've spoken about it for the seven years we've been together... It's always an adjustment but my boys would love it. I'm a tomboy but there's a lot of male energy. It would be incredible to have a girl, to have a little oestrogen in the house."

And Campbell, previously known as Darius Danesh, is also keen to become a first-time father, adding, "I believe a man's life isn't complete without experiencing fatherhood. My dad invented the first heart and lung machine for premature babies, yet he says his proudest achievement was his three sons. It's very humbling and reminds me that family is the most important thing."

I am so pleased for Darius and Natasha and delighted that it was such a very special occasion for them and that they included the boys.

They are such a private couple and it was very fitting for them, but they are both also public persons and they would have been aware that it would have to be made public.

That said, I have been quite irked by some of the petty comments I've read since Hello trailed the story.

Why is it right for everyone else to go public with one interview and pictures and so wrong, when it's Darius?

Exactly BT... I have been thinking the same and tried to find the right words to say as such yesterday. 'Hello' have stated that they interviewed Darius and Natasha sometime after the ceremony and how else do the public find out when celebrities get married other than through glossy magazines!! I think the interview said everything that needed to be said. I hope the celebrations with both families are everything they want them to be and if we get any insight into those events after they have happened I shall enjoy hearing about them!!

The suggestion that Darius would ever shun his beloved parents and brothers in favour of a spread in a magazine is absolutely reprehensible. He has never courted the media other than when he was doing his job promoting a song, show, charity etc.

They'll be able to celebrate over and over in many special ways with different groups of family and friends.

They're a delightful family and I'm sure those who matter to them will wish them well.

D tweeted. As you probably know - I got hitched! A big hug and much love to everyone for their good wishes! D xx

Just thought id add they always sed they would hav two ceramonies so maybe theyl hav a blessing with their families there :)

I think the hello interview was done after the fact tbh if it was done on the day Darius and Natashas cover would have been blown wide open!

The pictures in Hello are lovely, I got a copy this morning. What ever they did we know they wouldn't please everybody. Darius 'never can do right for doing wrong'. As long as their parents are happy that's fine. Sue

The things I do for Darius. I went out especially to get a copy of Hello yesterday and got caught in a mini blizzard. There'd been light snow earlier but it didn't lie. This time the snowflakes were huge and they fell so thickly. I was covered in white by the time I got to the car.

It was worth it though. They are beautiful pictures. I wonder if Tristan took any of them. He seemed to be quite handy with a camera when I saw him first at the Playhouse in Edinburgh and he's 3 years older now.

The interview was interesting too.

I'm guessing what got in the way of the marriage following swiftly on the engagement in 2007, as Natasha apparently wanted, was GWTW. He took on this commitment thousands of miles away, which could have potentially kicked it into very, very long grass indeed.

But then, how could he not?

Funnily enough. I feel that if it been as successful as it deserved to be, they'd have married long before now.

With the Hello vote reminding us all of times past, is anyone ready for a video reminder from the earliest of times - Popstars.

I found a site yesterday which includes a little clip of the programme, Nearly Popstars, which features Darius among many other faces you'll recognise. I believe it went out shortly after the end of the programme. I've been trying to find it on Youtube but haven't had any luck yet.

According to my anti-virus, the site I found it on is safe, so if it isn't on youtube, I'll post the link to that tomorrow.

this was on D's website Since I’ve been in LA I’ve spent some time putting a new band together of cool young players who are some of the best musicians in the country and this coming Thursday we’ll be performing at Vibrato here in LA. The place was conceived by seven time grammy-winning, legendary trumpeter and bandleader Herb Alpert so I’m in good company! D x

That's great - the only trouble is - we will never get to hear the set.

I think we're going to have to get used to it :( Sue

I know. Such a shame - we've been supporting him from the beginning. On the bright side, someone may put something on youtube - ever hopeful, that's me.

As long as he's happy and successful, I can live with it.
