Posted November 1, 201014 yr Patrick Wolf has confirmed details of a new single and a short live tour. The singer-songwriter releases 'Time Of My Life', backed with a cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Anthem' as a limited edition 7" single on December 6. Wolf said of the song: "'Time Of My Life' is a song that I began writing at the end of a relationship in 2006 and then finished three years later during a temporary break-up in my current relationship." The single will be issued as a CD/download in March 2011. The follow-up to last year's The Bachelor will be released next May, though it will no longer be called The Conqueror, as previously planned. "The new album has a direct narrative about love and optimism surviving through adversity and recession. I wanted to celebrate the love and hope I have found in the last few years," Wolf explained _ _ _ _ _ _ Set to premiere on Radio 1 on December 3rd. Can't wait, absolutely loved 'The Bachelor' so I'm hoping this is as good. Edited January 22, 201114 yr by Cremey
November 1, 201014 yr yeah im looking forward to this, i think this is what The Conquerer has now become. Would be epic cool if he collaborated with Alec Empire again on this album, doubt it though.
November 1, 201014 yr Patrick. I love literally everything he has ever recorded, an amazing artist.
November 4, 201014 yr On first listen I really wasnt convinced and was rather prepared to throw it away as 'nice and all, but ultimetly forgettable' but I'm actually rather growing to adore it as time goes on, the middle 8 in particular is rather wonderful all round.
November 5, 201014 yr This reminds me of James's - 'Getting Away With It' well I think that's what it was called
November 5, 201014 yr Author not his best, might take a few more listens. boring video. I think the video was just uploaded to go on youtube to get the song out without having to listen to crappy radio rips. Shouldn't imagine it's the official. On first listen I really wasnt convinced and was rather prepared to throw it away as 'nice and all, but ultimetly forgettable' but I'm actually rather growing to adore it as time goes on, the middle 8 in particular is rather wonderful all round. Yes, the middle 8 is especially good! It's definitely quite the grower.
January 21, 201114 yr YBSVj7q5HNo I'm getting proper obsessed now, I think I need the album in my life this instant! Adored 'Time Of My Life' but I actually think I might prefer this even, it's so gorgeous. Video was suppose to premier today, but theres been some glitches apparantly.
January 22, 201114 yr Author I much prefer 'The City' to 'Time of my Life' too. I liked the latter but it just seemed a bit tame for Patrick. :( From what he's said about the album it's all going in that sort of direction though which is a shame. He said about getting rid of the industrial sound from his past records...something along those lines anyway. Hope this album isn't a letdown! EDIT: here it is: Patrick Wolf has claimed that his upcoming album will be "clean" compared to its predecessor. The singer-songwriter told NME that the record would not have the same harshness of 2009's The Bachelor. Wolf said: "I wanted to get away from the industrial element of the last album. "I wanted to get away from any noises or frequencies that were provocative in terms of noise. It was important to me to make a very clean album." Edited January 22, 201114 yr by Cremey
January 22, 201114 yr Really liking 'The City' (Also like 'Time of My Life' too - just forgot to comment ). Looking forward to his album and to see what else he has on offer!
January 22, 201114 yr but i loved the industrial element of his last album :( working with Alec Empire was clearly the best decision in his career.
January 22, 201114 yr I need to get all of his back catalogue I think... I only have 2 albums. I think he is GENIUS, how he hasn't had more attention i'll never know. Patrick Wolf > Anthony And The Johnsons. -_-
January 22, 201114 yr Patrick Wolf > Anthony And The Johnsons. -_- More untrue words have never been spoken. Sorry, but Antony Hegarty is an absolute musical genius and Patrick just makes some okay tunes now n then.
January 23, 201114 yr I'm liking this poppy side to Patrick, I'd rather have an album that is more commercial but different to his previous work than a retread of his last album. Wind In The Wires remains one of my favourite albums ever, it's just magical in it's portrayal of Cornwall and his life there.
January 23, 201114 yr I cannot believe how awful this all is. Completely unremarkable. Disappointing.
February 21, 201114 yr Author tracklisting: 01 'The City' 02 'House' 03 'Bermondsey Street' 04 'The Future' 05 'Armistice' 06 'William' 07 'Time Of My Life' 08 'The Days' 09 'Slow Motion' 10 'Together' 11 'The Falcons'
March 26, 201114 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/aDhNP.jpg I'm not even interested in this album that much any more. Hopefully most will be better than the singles...
