Well, the main point of this thread is to appreciate her but I would also love some news on Love?

I have read about a December release but i doubt it.

Considering the amount of Love? session songs to leak, I imagine she is busy recording.

Any fans?

Been a while since we've had new music from here, only info i've seen is what's on her official website.

Love? is still coming out, Q1 2011 apparently. She's done 8 songs with RedOne.

I don't hold much faith that it will be as solid as Brave going by the leaks from this era (which aside from What Is Love? and Everybody's Girl were mostly awful) but hopefully there'll be at least one or two great songs on there.

Do you not like On the Radio, One Love, Story of My Life, Greatest Part Of Me, Hooked on You or Whippin' my Hair? :o

What Is Love? is simply stunning, one of her best songs

One Love is alright, puts me in mind of the filler on Brave - perfectly listenable but not very exciting. I actively hate Hooked On You. It's a poor rehash of Feedback by Janet and Painted Windows by PCD. Story Of My Life, On The Radio etc are really crap. But all that said I doubt the majority of them were ever intended to make the Love? tracklist so I still think the album will be decent when it eventually gets released.

This quote is from Rap-Up's review of the Love? album sampler (a year ago!):

4. “This Cannot Be Love” - Produced by Darkchild

The beginning sounds like the chords from another Darkchild joint, Brandy and Monica’s duet “The Boy Is Mine.” It quickly picks up the pace with an electro-pop beat and speedy hook (“This cannot be love, this can’t be love, this can’t be love,” she repeats). J.Lo wonders whether true love exists. “How could something that felt so right turn so wrong? … I need to know right now,” she demands. The production gets more aggressive towards the end.

6. “Keeper” - Produced by Danja

After much searching, J.Lo finally finds Mr. Right. The beat is somewhat reminiscent of T.I.’s “Hell of a Life,” which Danja also produced. “You give me so much love, you keep it locked down,” she sings on the bouncy hook. “It doesn’t matter what they tell me … That boy’s a keeper.” One of our favorites. Danja contributed another track called “Love and War” that was not played.

I don't know if those songs will make the tracklist since (a) they were recorded whilst she was at Epic rather than Def Jam and (b) she's recorded so many songs and is still recording which suggests they aren't happy with the material they have currently, but I hope they leak in some form. As you can tell I'm quite a fan... ha.

Thanks for that :D

What Is Love? and Louboutins, will they be on it I wonder?

I hope Jen has one or two songs that show of her quite impressive voice, like (Can't Believe) This Is Me from Rebirth and her Spanish album.

One of her biggest problems has always been finding material which suits her voice because she is very capable (see her AMAZING live performance of Do It Well/Waiting For Tonight at Fashion Rocks 2007) but her tone doesn't always suit her material and her voice can sound whiny as a result... vocally her best album was probably This Is Me... Then or possibly the debut because the material really complimented her voice. Rebirth (besides being her worst album) was pretty terrible vocally but she pulled it back with Brave.

She did sound really good on Brave

I think a "your top 10 J-Lo songs" list is needed :kink:

1. What Is Love?

2. (Can't Believe) This Is Me

3. Do It Well

4. Louboutins

5. Let's Get Loud

6. Tú

7. Hooked On You

8. Stay Together

9. Love Don't Cost A Thing

10. Story Of My Life

I have not heard much of her material pre-Brave just drips and drabs. Planning to buy all of her album though.

To be honest most of them aren't good enough to buy (just download!) but they all have their share of highlights. A top 10 is tough! Okay here we go:

01 Waiting For Tonight

02 Mile In These Shoes

03 I'm Gonna Be Alright

04 Carino

05 Do It Well

06 What Is Love?

07 We Gotta Talk

08 Still

09 Wrong When You're Gone

10 I'm Glad

NOT EASY.

I'm a Jennifer fan. As for my top 10...hmm. My list is loosely compiled because it's tough for me to rank them.

1. Ain't It Funny (I like both the remix and the original)

2. I'm Real (remix)

3. Cherry Pie

4. Jenny From The Block

5. Get Right

6. Mile In These Shoes

7. If You Had My Love

8. I'm Glad

9. Let's Get Loud

10. Waiting For Tonight

Oh my god those remixes were AWFUL. They absolutely BUTCHERED Ain't It Funny and I'm Real. To think they were so popular in the US as well!

I agree they were horrid, although I classify them as different songs really.

That's the thing, usually a hip-hop remix at the time had NOTHING to do with the original song. I agree that Ain't It Funny and I'm Real are two of her best songs, but only in the original versions. Oh, and Waiting For Tonight

the hair and clothes look similar to the J.Lo cover, so I'm not sure. I love myself a bit of "Jen-Pez" "Brave" was addictive  and I love "Baby I Luv U", "I'm Real", "Ain't It Funny" and a lot more, Jenny has got some amazing hits

It was shown during the Barbara Walters 10 Most Fascinating People Interview so I think it could be official.

When you said Jenny has got some amazing hits, I misread it as Tits

i think its gonna be extremely difficult for her to have a sucessful comeback. she needs one corker of a hit imo.
