September 2, 201212 yr Author I can understand why people don't like the album (or iamamiwhoami at all for that matter) but the BBC review is completely baffling. I do agree that it sounds like plenty of different artists and bands mutated together, but the entire product is something impressively different and ambitious. Art doesn't need justification and to completely neglect the visuals as a mere almost-there addition is simply missing the point of the project.
September 2, 201212 yr The problem with the BBC is that they're quite reluctant to support anything that can't really be classed as mainstream (I would normally go off on a rant about Eurovision here but I'll refrain :kink: ). If they were to to give kin a very positive review then they'd probably have to playlist a track on Radio 1 and that would never happen given how safe and uninspired that playlist is. That said, they did play "play" the other day, but at just gone 6 in the morning :nocheer:

September 2, 201212 yr You needed the BBC music review to decide that? Was this in response to my statement?
September 2, 201212 yr Author I'll be neglecting the visuals when judging the music. Again, understandable. It was made to be a package, and I think people are failing to get that.
September 2, 201212 yr I fail to see the connection with the BBC review. So I guess it was a coincidence that you posted "I'm downloading it now" right after Mr Triangles posted the BBC review indeed. But it's kind of weird, let's be honest. The album's been out in full for 3 months now and you chose this very moment. Edited September 2, 201212 yr by 濁pavel
September 2, 201212 yr Yep - co-incidence. Just like I didn't download Alt-J until last week. These threads act as reminders of stuff that I need to catch up on.

September 5, 201212 yr How come Pitchfork still didn't review the album? Are they like reviewing certain types of albums or artists with a steady flow of $$$? :/
September 5, 201212 yr Author How come Pitchfork still didn't review the album? Are they like reviewing certain types of albums or artists with a steady flow of $$$? :/ Has it even been released in the US?
September 5, 201212 yr Has it even been released in the US? Oh that'd make sense. It was actually released on Monday via Cooperative Music. I always thought the June release counted as a proper release too! Explains the timing with this VEVO channel.

Explains the timing with this VEVO channel. I'm not expecting a review, they're not very Pitchfork. It would only be negative anyway. :D
September 5, 201212 yr I expect and look forward to a Pitchfork review. Edited September 5, 201212 yr by AnthonyT
