Am so delighted about this Pete. Had a felling that it might do it. Was stalking the IRMA site all day! Do you know if there is any way to find out what the sales are?

No, i have no idea how to get irish sales it seems impossible to find out at any time, like you and so many other i would love to know even the number 1 sales each week, i would think take that would have big sales here though.

Progress is Take Thats 6th Irish Number 1 album, take that and party and ultimate collection are the only 2 offical albums not to make number 1 here.

That's a shame. Thaought they were great on CIN  A brilliant and more relaxed performance. Looked like they were having a great time and Never Forget what a treat  .

Ya great performances on CIN, robbie was indeed more relaxed on the flood but i prefered the x factor performance, never forget was brilliant aswell, CIN is having a very positive effect for them on itunes.
They were brilliant on CIN, seemed much more relaxed and comfortable performing together than they did on X Factor (although that was a great performance too). And vocally they were excellent....apart from poor Jason whose solo lines in Never Forget were possibly the most painfully out of tune ever to grace my ears :(

Brilliant news for the album:

Itunes

UK: #1

Germany: #1

Austria: #1

Denmark: #1

Switzerland: #1

Luxembourg: #1

Ireland: #1

Netherlands:

Netherlands: #4

Belgium: #6

Without promotion.......

I get a feeling that Jason isn't too happy and if I'm honest ... I get the feeling he's being squeezed out of the band a bit. I know its all supposed to be democratic and they're trying to welcome Rob back as much as they can to get his confidence ... but they're doing it at the expense of Jason. In that documentary ... which personally I felt was a bit self-indulgent ... was there ever point in it that Gary didn't agree or come to the defence of Rob? The more objective part of me would say he was actually crawling up Rob's backside. And again ... this is NO reflection on Rob as he in no way or form asked for it. I just think Gary is going way over the top with the 'my new best mate bit'.

I do get your point about Jason's solo line in NF though ... but to be fair the line he has it a bit tuneless anyway. I'm always nervous at that point whenever I hear the song. Did you notice the extra loud cheer when Rob did his bit?

If the band goes back to a foursome ... it won't be Rob leaving ... it'll be Jason.

By the way ... heard a few more songs today and I actually LOVE the Mark one (What Do You Want From Me). I think I'm the only one who does though. I'm going to take advantage of Amazon's offer though and get it for a quid on Monday.

It definitely does seem like Jason isn't too pleased with this reunion and I agree that it came across in the documentary (which I actually thought was great myself). I was a bit disappointed when Robbie came back because it seemed like Jason just stepped aside and let it happen, I always thought he'd be a bit more vocal about it. And the Gary loves Robbie thing is really starting to grate.

Jason's solo line in NF is a bit tuneless but it became something else last night, I know he's not a brilliant singer (although he can hold his own when he wants to-How Did It Come To This is a good example of that, both on the record and live) but it was just awful! I really hope he doesn't leave though, he's been my favourite since I started getting in to them back in '06.

What Do You Want From Me? is one of my favourites, I would've thought the fans would love it more as, to me at least, it seems the most like a song that could've appeared on either of their last two albums. The Amazon deal is amazing, I can't believe they're going to sell it for a quid only a week after release. Sales should be incredible again next week then :)

What Do You Want From Me would have fitted in brilliantly on BW alongside Mark's other two songs Hold On and What You Believe In (I've not included Shine as that was totally different). What I've heard so far doesn't really sound too far removed from a Take That album ... so I don't understand some of the negative responses to it from Take That fans. Have you seen the consumer comments on Amazon? An unbelievable amount of 1 / 5 scores from people who've started of 'I'm normally a Take That fan ... '

What do you want for me is great but there is better on the album for me, i have to say any mark led songs i always seem to enjoy. I do agree about jason and in many feels i dont see how he is any addition to the band but they must have him there for some reason, i would say jason finds it hard to fit in as he the only member never to have a lead on the single and i think its best that he hasnt or prob never will.

Even though i have bought progress im going to avail of a spare copy with the amazon order and with it selling for £1 i think there will be a few people who will be getting it as part of a christmas present from our house to, i will also be buying a few copie sof the susan boyle album aswell as that will also be selling for £1.

21/11/2010 - Take That’s Progress sets new sales record; JLS score Number One with Children In Need

Take That have set a new sales standard with their latest album Progress, which has achieved the biggest opening week sales of any album for 13 years – the Official Charts Company confirms today.

The album sold almost 520,000 copies last week, more than the rest of the Top 10 biggest selling albums put together, to top today’s (Sunday) Official Albums Chart, according to Official Charts Company data.

The achievement represents the highest one-week sale for any album this century and one of the all-time fastest sales - the album sold more than Coldplay’s X&Y in 2005 (465,000 week one) and Take That’s The Circus in 2008 (432,000 week one).

In fact, the last album to sell more than 500,000 copies in a week was Oasis’s Be Here Now, which sold 663,000 in its first chart week in 1997 – after being released on the Thursday.

Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot says, “Since their reunion as a four-piece four years ago, Take That have firmly established themselves as the UK’s favourite band.

“Following the return of Robbie Williams to their ranks, that record has been further cemented – and they are now well on course to rule Christmas 2010, just as they dominated Christmas 2006 and 2008.”

Take That’s reunion album, Beautiful World, sold 2.5m copies in the UK and held the Number One spot for 8 weeks, with its 2008 follow-up The Circus selling 1m copies in just 18 days on its way to 2.2m sales to date, and was Number One for 5 weeks.

Then, earlier this year, they announced plans to reform with their erstwhile fifth member Robbie Williams. Earlier this month, ticket sales for next year’s Progress tour broke all records to secure Progress as the fastest and biggest selling tour in UK history with a total of 1.34m tickets sold, the first million going in just eight hours.

As lead single from the Progress album, The Flood entered the charts two weeks ago at number two to secure the band their 16th Top 5 hit single

That's so brilliant! :)

I really can't wait to see what their 2nd week sales are like with the amazon deal.

Yes the amazon deal makes next week just as exciting as this one.

Wouldn't the stocks that Amazon have been bought in last week though? So already will have counted? I don't quite understand this 'Black Friday' thing at all. Besides ... as much as I've looked on Amazon ... I can't find any trace of the offer. My B-I-L is going to get it for me when he logs in tomorrow.
