What would 8 times platnum in Ireland be in actual terms of sales? What is platnum sales in Ireland, 30,000???

Progress drops 11 places to number 31 in the UK this week.

Good question, i dont know what platnum sales are in ireland myself, i must look that up.

it would be 120k for 8x platinum in ireland. im sure the tour alone would have pushed it near that mark and im guessing progressed sales will be added to progress over there as well as they chart together according to the irma.

little disappointed that they have dropped 11..hopefully we can move back into the top 30 next week.

Im happy with those sales for Ireland and it still getting afew trickle sales.

Ya i hope the album can climb in the UK again this week and return to the top 30.

Well it definitly wont be top 30 as progressed isnt in the top 40 midweeks, probably #41, hopefullyt it can scrape back into the top 40 for sunday.
oh wow is it really not in the top 40 at all? :o

No, and not top 40 in todays update either, when we were young has done absolutly nothing for the album at all unfortunatly.
then again it wasn't promoted or even properly released again. its a shame that the last single for a year or so has done so poorly

Ya i agree its a shame but as i said i doubt the lads are in any way bothered.

Pete if they're not bothered - why go to the trouble of releasing a song (and a video). Agreed the video will have been done pretty much on the cheap - I still can't see why they bothered. It makes their chart run look awful. I'm not bothered too much for the song as I've made no secret I think its quite dreadful ... but. I think they should have been selective with their single releases this time instead of releasing any old rubbish.

tbh tho kath there wasn't really anything on Progressed over than love love and wwwy that could have been singles. if they just threw together a collectors set of cd's like they did with said it all then it would have done similarly in the charts to that song.

i actually quite like the video, no gimmicks just stripped back and although definately cheap to film it is quite powerful i think

The single got zero promotion, no phyisical etc so it was never gona do well, i think if the lads were bothered they would have promoted it in some way, i think it was simply released to try and gain a few more album sales. Apart from love love i agree that when we were young was the only other song that was good enough to be a single of progressed although happy now or eight letters in my opinion would have made far better offical singles.

Progressed individual sales stand at 206,000 so it will eventually go platnum in itself which is great, not that is counted seperate.

Progress/progressed combined sales now stand at 2,275,000.

So hopefully and i dont think it unrealistic that over time the album will manage another 100,000 sales so i would say its overall uk sales should eventuallt stand at 2.350+ million.

Pretty glad its done well (even though I was disappointed by it) but am very, very glad that it looks like it will never surpass the sales of Beautiful World.

Kath

and with xmas i wouldnt be suprised if it sold 100k just in the build up. im sure there will be a take that week on x factor and rumours persist that gary will perform with take that so sales may be higher than what we predict.

Ya, in a way im glad it wont surpass beautiful world as progress is not as good an album, although personaly i would love the circis to be teh fron t runner sales wise, still nt to complain all 3 albums mentioned have done the business sales wise so i cannot grumble at all.

If there is a take that week on x factor ( and there usually is) they will benefit nicely from it, but either way i think there is at least 100, 000 sales left in the album yet that should help it build up some more chart weeks also and keep them appeari8ng on the chart until they release something new.

I still think we might get a live album release but i could be wrong in time for christmas ( well here is hoping anyhow)

I don't think we will get a live album this time (we didn't get either for Beautiful world, isn't it?). The autumn will be Robbie's time and i think they will carefully schedule different time for each. But there will be a DVD in time for Christmas. I have to think now if i will want the Progressed or the DVD from Santa.

After lacking any promotion for When we were young, i think the era Progress is now ended and they will move forward. I start already to speculate if they remain by this producer or they will look for someone new...

Progressed era is over i think as there really is anything else they can release now as its kinda to late, but its been a huge success album wise and the flood was quite big and to be fair love love and kidz sold reasonably well too.

Its looking unlikely we will get a live album as i think we would have heard something by now ( i still live in hope) but ya there wasnt one for beautiful world either, i guess beautiful world and progress got deluxe editions where the circus didnt so i guess that why we got the live album last time. Still the live album has gone double platnum and sales of 700,000 which is fantastic for a live album so i think they are crazt not to do another one , or maybe im just been deluded and selfish becuase i just love live cds.

For sure many would thing they try to milk it too much if they release a live-CD one. I love it the Circus one as the versions were quite different from the studio album, but for Progress(ed), if they don't do some other orchestral arrangements, then i won't bother buing one. I don't think Progress offers the same versatility to change as the Circus or Beautiful World did to make a live CD interesting enough. Let's hope the new album will be really with "real instruments", as for the computer tricks they are neither PSB, or DM or Erasure to use the sound rightfully.

A full packaged DVD, with commentary as Beautiful World had, would do it for me! (and please please please no ice bads or docus about reunions anymore).
