Jay - I'm sure the tour edition (limited on, released in about November 2007) did not go to number 1. I know it says on Wiki that it did - but I'm certain it didn't.

Only one way to check I suppose - I'll have to trawl through all the old chart threads on BJ!

Just checked. It didn't I'm afraid. Leona Lewis' Spirit was released the same week and was number one until at least January. The DeLuxe Edition of Beautiful World brought the original album back into the top 10 at number 9. Pete - the number 3 position you're thinking of is the tour/acoustic edition of The Circus album.

yeahh you're right Kath, just checked my album and it was the original BW that had the sticker on it, not the tour edition..my mistake!

I certainly was. They said it was limited and they meant it. It came out on 13 November and I remember saying to my brother-in-law - not to get it for my niece as I'd get it her for Christmas (it was supposed to be deleted from stock and any stores having it were to return them at the end of December). It was a good job he ignored me and got his own for her - as when I went to try and get a copy just before Christmas - there were no copies at all - anywhere.

It WAS weird that the original went back to number one (for two weeks) at the end of March 2007. I know it was around about Mother's day - but usually that would only have accounted for a one week blip. I'm glad it did though as it deserved it.

Beautiful world indeed had a great chart run and had steady sales for ages, i would have loved it to have overall made the 3 million mark in the uk but its highly highly unlikely now, progress if sales are combined with progress could potentially sell very near to the same as beautiful world. In a way that would be great as i love to see them sell loads of albums but at the same time i dont want progress to outsell beautiful world as it isnt as good an album overall.

Total sales Progress (Uk only): 2,147,087

Next week overall sales for Progress will overtake The Circus. Great achievement.

I reckon Beautiful World with sales of about 3 million in the UK (4 million world wide) will remain their biggest album.

Up to today Progress has sold 2,147,087 in the UK alone. Add worldwide sales of about 1.1 million and total sales for Take That are approx. 3.3 million. Amazing.

its sold just over 500k in germany apparently...more than BW

That's fantastic sales for the german market. Believe me.

The sales for progress are indeed creeping up but as i said before i think as it stands the album has been a success so anything more is just a bonus. The progressed version will hopefully keep the album selling for a while aswell and hopefully help it pass the 2.5 million mark in the UK.

Just saw the midweeks a few mins ago and progressed drops from number 1 to number 4 this week, hopefully it will claw its way back into the top 3 again though.

Hopefully there is at least another 300,000 sales left in this yet before it completly trails offs in the UK.

No way does it have that many sales left in it Pete - at a push - maybe worldwide it still has nearly 300K but not in the UK. Progressed is, and seriously it is, totally awful and I can't see it doing anything to push sales of the album much further. To use an expression that (Robbie once used about himself) Progress has gone to the moon and back on an elastic band.

Thank heavens Take That's live shows (4 & 5) are proving as strong as ever - but musically - they've gone backwards.

I agree progressed is not by any means their finest work, on saying i really like when we were young and i adore love love, as it stands progressed has added 110,000 sales to progress so far and hopefully will add another 20,000 odd to it this week, 200,000 for the rest of the year doesnt seem impossible, especially when it start selling at sale prices etc, also when we were young is supopsed to be a single, how true thta is i dont know but if so that will help push a few sales aswell.

good sales, probably can expect another week of that and then perhaps the week after as well before sales start dropping in the UK (unless they drop the price...saying that though, adele's 19 album is still selling enough to break top 5 so there's no reason why take that cant carry on selling 15k+ for a few more weeks to come)

sales of Progress should rise worldwide once they move into europe. can see love love charting in germany, denmark etc as well

Hopefully they can even stay top 10 for another 2-3 weeks as that would help build up sales,im sure they are gonna sell in dribs and draps for many a week yet plus when the price drops it should help sell it aswell.

Hopefully the tour in europe will also help boost sales and help boost the overall sales tally nicely, i hope love love does chart in the mentioned countries, i really love the song and would like to see it charting around europe.

Very pleased with the new edition performance thus far, i hope it continues for some time yet.

pROGRESSED is number 10 in the midweeks, good to see its holding steady enough, bringing its sales nearer and nearer to 200,000 now.
