I do like Ellie's version of 'Your Song' - it's very "British" because of her accent meaning the song sounds like authentic and unique. One of those less is more type tracks where just a piano accompaniment is all that is needed.

Spark reminds me a little bit like Diana Vickers for some reason - not a complete clone, just subtle hints. I wonder how long Spark has been going? I quite like the song. I'm sure there's tracks you've charted that I've not thought much of but I prefer to focus on the tracks I like rather than those I don't. I guess whatever floats your boat!!! :P

A peak of #50 in the UK? :drama: I really don't understand why such a great British synthpop duo are struggling to get the same level of success Hurts have achieved (and still achieving) all over Europe. Would be interesting to see how Hurts fared if they tried to crack the American market. Could excellent it would be to see 'Wonderful Life' no. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100. Obviously it'd be the Hurts featuring Lil Wayne version!!! :heehee:

 

08 (11) McFly feat. Taio Cruz - Shine A Light (11-08) [2 wks] Two weeks in the UK top ten for a McFly single! I'm astounded :heehee:

 

I actually like this song more now than I did early last week when I was writing up last weeks chart hence why it charted below the likes of Pink, Nelly and B.o.B. but ultimately why it's now climbed whilst those tracks have fallen. Their success is deserved, they've proved that you can reinvent yourself and be successful.

 

14 (--) Florence & The Machine - Heavy In Your Arms (14) [1 wk] Not blown away by this :( I hope the follow up to Lungs isn't like this as it's just not very memorable...

 

I find this track extremely haunting which I usually like in ballads like this. I can imagine some people saying it sounds boring or depressing but with Florence's vocals, there's something really interesting about this track and the style of the song. The video is definitely "haunting" - moreso creepy. :lol:

 

16 (--) JLS - Love You More (16) [1 wk] Pleasant song, got to #19 in my chart - not outstanding but certainly amongst their best.

 

Well it's actually equalled the peak of 'Beat Again' in my chart even though I would rank this higher. Still nothing matches 'Everybody In Love' - it might've been considered cheesey but I thought it was a great track. Everyone seems to love 'One Shot' but I didn't get the love for that song. It's alright and certainly better than 'The Club Is Alive' but I was feeling the love. :lol:

You're not the only one - I preferred Last Ones Standing to Kickstarts too, which is ironically my least favourite Example single so far. Just like Europe, Hurts have done incredibly well in my chart with their first three singles all going top 5. It amazes me that I was charting 'Wonderful Life' back in January, yet it's only really since July that the song has taken off in such a big way across Europe. I much prefer 'Stay' to 'Better Than Love' and can see this track having a more impressive chart run than 'BTL' did.

That seems to be the general opinion on Buzzjack but it's certainly not that bad imo. Personally I think the whole 'Try This' era was disappointing. Didn't think much cop of 'Trouble' or 'God Is A DJ' so would rank this as a better track myself.

Girls Aloud will probably be lucky to release anything next year.

It is a very creepy sounding track and even the music video portrays the sound of the music perfectly. It's dark, haunting and eerie. ^_^ For me though, 'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)' is Florence's best single to date.
