Commentary : Prince Royce, born in New York, brings bachata music to the top of my chart this week in his 10th week on the chart. "Corazon sin Cara" is his second top 10 entry of the year following up his bilingual version of "Stand by me". However the highest riser of the week is from Jamaican singer Vybz Kartel who enters the top 10 at 6 with his third top 10 entry since July 2010 namely "Jeans and Fitted".

Two new entries this week. At 17 is Ellie Goulding with her version of Elton John's first commercially successful single "Your Song" and at 18 is Rihanna with a track from her newly released CD "Loud". "S & M" is Rihanna's first appearance in my top 20 this year.

Thank you all for replies. Yes both Prince Royce and Aventura are great examples of Bachata....Obsession was such a big international hit a few years back and "Dile el amor" is the biggest hit on the Billboard Tropical Songs Chart of 2010. If you like bachata check out Juan Luis Guerra as well...."Bachata en Fukaoka" was a hit a few months back.

 

As for Ellie Goulding it's hard to match Elton of course but I cant think of a better cover of an Elton John song....unless I've missed out on something !
