Posted November 25, 201014 yr System Of A Down are widely expected to announce that they are reforming on Monday (November 29). The rockers are tipped to confirm a full reunion tour along with several European festival appearances, including a possible slot at the UK's Download festival. Their only confirmed date so far is for next year, when the band play Palais Omnisports in Paris on June 6. But, when asked by a fan on Twitter if there was any truth to reports that the band would play next year's Download, bassist Shavo Odadjian replied, "Stay tuned." The band have been on hiatus since 2006 but never announced a full split. During their break frontman Serj Tankian has released two solo records and guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan have formed Scars On Broadway. Download takes place on June 10-12 at Donington Park. http://www.nme.com/news/system-of-a-down/54006 I'm hoping they will do Reading rather than Download (or both), as Melvin Benn was trying to book them for Reading this year, i'm definatly gonna try to see them, hopefully a UK tour will happen.
November 25, 201014 yr Excellent :D Reading would be great since I'm hoping to get Leeds tickets this year :) Edited November 25, 201014 yr by MancunianGiraffe
November 25, 201014 yr noticed this news a few days ago, was listening to the self titled album and Toxicity earlier. Only time I've seen them live was 2nd on the main stage before Metallica at Leeds in 2003 and it wasn't that impressive if I'm honest - although Metallica were awesome that night so that's probably why I was a little disappointed with SOAD would love some new material from them as well, as much as I like Mezmerize/Hypnotize, I'd rather an album in the style of the first two albums with Serj taking on the majority of vocal duties rather than Daron
November 29, 201014 yr Author now offically annouced to be headlining Download. so tempted to go now.
