The peas have the no1 in the bag then? The chorus with the dirty bit is the only part of the song I can stand, the verses are SO stupid...

Anyway I can see Fergie taking a BIG break to start a family with Josh sometime this year :naughty: :teresa:

thanks for the pop up bars btw

and please stop asking for them.

iTunes Thread Rules:

2) ANY POP BARS COMING. They will come when a compiler is available to post, if you are really that desperate for them add them yourself, its not a life or death situation, otherwise be patient.

Thank You :)

You have NO idea how jealous I am of him! She's so perfect! She can sing, she can rap ("I'm so 3008, you're so 2000 and late", what a legend!), she can dance (boy can she dance!). She gave me Meet Me Halfway. I don't care that she's like 20 years older than me. :D Love her! Just had to get this off my humps. :kink:

I thought The Silence would go top 10 tbh.

least im trying to be polite :(

You're still asking whether its being polite or not...mods would rather you not ask.

I'm the opposite, The Time is a fantastic electro track ruined by a vile chorus that just doesn't gel with the verses.

And I thought I was equally polite with the "Thank You"

I love the whole song to be honest. Although I kind of to wish they'd not used such a well-known sample, as it's a bit annoying seeing so many people hating and ridiculing the song. I'm very pro-sampling, but I don't think the general public are ready for songs like The Time yet.

I think if they'd made a new melody for the chorus, and changed the lyrics, it would've been a lot better received, even if the lyrics and the melody were worse. I know, it sounds stupid, but if it's a sample, some people will not like it. I can understand it tbh. It can sound very strange when a song you're very familiar with gets sampled, and it often takes a long time to get used to it (I've experienced this myself a lot of times).

I LOVE the lyrics to the verses of The Time though. So pathetic and tongue-in-cheek, it's just funny.

The Time is just so so trashy. I have nothing against sampling but this one just DOES NOT work. I really do not understand why they chose to use that song of all. It's total cheesy 80s dreck and that quality rubs off on the BEPs song too. Plus the autotune soaking is awful.

It's not that bad apart from that though. Infact I don't mind the instrumental version too much.

Yeah, the BEPs have a thing with sampling 80's songs on their new album. There's at least 4 80's songs they've sampled already, and there's 1 song released in 1979 they've sampled too. And, as usual, with the BEPs, people will be discovering other samples over the next few weeks. I await to see what they are. I noticed that the instrumental of the last chorus of The Time sounds the same as Can't Get You Out of My Head (except with the chord progression from The Time of My Life, and slightly different synthesizers), but nobody else on the Internet seems to be saying anything about that.

Oh god, I so do not want 'The Time' at #1, really hope Willow can keep a lead and get the official top spot. Also glad 'The Silence' is doing reasonably well, I think its about #15 combined? Top 20 for a 6th single off of the same album would be great!

Does this honestly not strike you as totally lacking in originality?

One of the worst top 2 i have seen this year!

I think this week's top 10 will be just horrible: The Time, Whip My Hair, Rihannax3 (who's that chick=headache), Like a G6, X Factor, Poison, and The Silence! OMG  Hope Coldplay stay top 10, so they could save a crap top 10 (alongside Your Song  )

the only hope for this week is the reaction at the end of the week and how fast both songs fade.willow will prob be around 3/4 on itunes by friday - beps will be 2/3.ellie will be no 1 again for a day at least.look how close she was to xfactor this week!!you never know.

also coldplay will hopefully sell enough in the past 2 days plus maybe tomorrow if sales hold to rise into the top 10.its sales will maybe even rise as we get closer to xmas?does it have any promo that all the pop artists have?

Um, not really. Plus, some of the songs they sampled used sampling themselves. For example:

Light Up the Night by the Black Eyed Peas -

from 2010 samples:

Children's Story by Slick Rock -

from 1989, which samples:

Think by Lyn Collins -

from 1972.

Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Dizzee Rascal and Janet Jackson have also sampled Think, and Eminem has sampled Children's Story.

It's a complete myth that people who use samples aren't original. Seriously, a nice experiment for people who hold this viewpoint to do is to get a song like Think, listen to all the songs that sample it (and there are a LOT), and then listen to all the songs that sample those songs, and then listen to all the songs that sample those songs. They're all completely different. Artists who sample don't just sit there, record some clips from different songs and attach them together and sing over them. They often spend months on these songs. Likewize, some songs that don't use samples have been created in only a matter of days.

I noticed Chic's My Forbidden Lover being sampled on one of the BEP album tracks...

Alcazar used it better though :smoke:
