after hearing all the rumours and controversal comments made about this new album, will you actually be buying it?

50 cent has described it as the '2010 version of thriller', Will.i.am has labelled it distasteful to release unfinished demo recordings under MJ's name, and his family are not convinced that the vocals are MJ's at all

it'll be interesting to see some of the first reviews...

question is, will people buy into this album or will fans snub it as a money making scheme off the back of the late king of pop?

No. He left a brilliant legacy of music for everybody to carry on enjoying for many years.

Smacks of "cashing-in" from record label in my opinion. <_<

No way. Wasn't massively fond of him or his music when he was alive, that hasn't changed since his death. MASSIVE cash-in on an estate that already made $1,000,000,000 since he died, how American.
I was a huge fan too, had tickets to see him at the O2, of course that never happened :snif: I haven't been majorly impressed by the two leaked tracks, but I'm still desperate to hear the rest of it, especially Behind The Mask...

I was planning to get the tickets...was just waiting for more concerts to be announced.

Memories...

The two leaked tracks are mediocre but didn't expect them match the brilliance of HIStory Continues era anyway.

i like hold my hand, not sure about breaking news, it doesnt sound like him at all

I don't like it. It's really distasteful. Cashing- in is whats happening for sure. It's all just stuff he didn't seem fit for release when he was alive but there is no stopping the record company now. The duet with Akon seems like it was a song that wasn't finished so Akon just filled it in.

"This Is It" being the only exception, I won't be getting any of it. :puke2:

Now I've heard it, and having realised it's a bit $h!t, I am kind of unconfortable with the plans for his archives to be exploited.

Hollywood Tonight is a JAM, that said.

hollywood tonight is good, its a bit strange having songs from the thriller era and the invincible era on the same album tho....

wonder how close Take That and MJ will be on the UK albums charts this week

I dunno for sure, just guessing really but they were certainly unfinished and don't really meet the standard of his other stuff. <_<

theres word that over the next 7 years Sony plan to release another 10 albums so this material right now much be the best of the bunch then, no point in waiting 5 years after he dies before bringing out his best posthumous work.....bet Sony are thinking xmas has come early the amount of money this will inevitably make them

Got the album today and I really like it. For a bunch of unreleased tracks they're all pretty good, especially Hold My Hand, Hollywood Tonight, Behind The Mask and Monster.

its not doing as well as it was expected to charting wise....its outside the top 5 in the US and number 4 in the UK atm, compared to his other albums, even This Is It bettered it :/

YA its not performing aswell as many expected, many expected it to be the christmas number 1 or a huge threat to knocking take that off number 1 which neither has happened, here in Ireland it made a #18 debut. Its not an album i would buy as i only liked michael jacksons older material, but this album is a complete cash in and with many saying half the stuff isnt even michael i understand fans not buying it.

How do you know it's outside the top 5 in the US?
