Tickets for the final go on sale on Sunday 12th December 2010 at 12:12 CET (11:12 UK). There will be 35,000 tickets available, ranging from 89 euros to 189 euros. The only official website to buy the tickets is http://www.dticket.de/

Tickets for the semi-finals won't be on sale until sometime in January.

I'll try and get two tickets, but does the official website normally crash straight away. And does anyone know if it'll be possible to purchase using a UK debit/credit card, even though the price is in euros and we work in pounds?

Of course.

I shan't be going :( Aside from the fact that I'm at work on Sunday from 10-4 with no internet access, I have an exam the day before the final, which is when I'd have to travel, at the latest, if I was going to go. Plus the fact that hotels/accommodation look to be an absolute nightmare to arrange.

Oh and the small issue that I can't afford it!

I know I always say 'maybe next year' and I'd have LOVED to have seen it in Germany but I didn't expect to be doing this course - if I wasn't I'd have pulled out all of the stops to try to go - but even so, where is there to stay in or very near to Dusseldorf that's reasonably priced?

I WILL do ESC one year (when it comes back to the UK :w00t:), but I have to prioritise my life first - if only I could be one of these people like those who write the blogs who centre their entire life and yearly schedule around travelling to the ESC and national finals!

Actual facepalm.

Actual facepalm.

Are you saying that debit/credit cards work, even if the currencies are different, and the facepalm is "OMG he's so stupid for not knowing that"?

Or is it "no, so it looks like you're screwed"? :(

There're so many different currencies in the world. It's quite silly to think programmers didn't think of the way to make it work. :(

I don't think it's silly, when I don't have my own credit/debit card so I don't know everything about how they work. It was a simple question that I wanted an answer to, since I didn't want to try and get tickets on Sunday only to find that my mum's card wouldn't be accepted ;)

I'm working on Sunday so won't be able to even attempt to buy tickets. Oh well, maybe I'll go in 2012...
The cheap seats are like £75... and then you've got to think about the hotel and travel. I don't think it's happening AGAIN :(

Indeed. You'd be extremely lucky to get a hotel anywhere near the venue too...

I honestly feel sometimes like the only way I'd ever be able to afford and have enough free time to go is if it came back to the UK

I won't go this year... too much needs to be planed  when it was in Oslo I only had to think about ESC tickets and nothing else... :P
