December 29, 201014 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f1/Nadinealbum.jpg/220px-Nadinealbum.jpg #5 Artist: Nadine Album: Insatiable Peaked: #1 It's a suprisingly perhaps somewhat unexpected top 10 I think and this is perhaps the only one I feel really needs any sort of justification. A combination of sympathy, lonelyness for Girls Aloud's absence and the fact that The Saturdays only bothered making 5 new songs perhaps. But on the whole, QoL Nadine returned with an album so much better than what Cheryl (notably absent from the countdown) could manage in my opinion. It's nothing new, and nothing groundbreaking but it's kind of awesome aswell. Lead single 'Insatiable' opens up as an incredible anthem, 'Red Light' has to go down as one of the best pop songs of the year, the highlights are rather never-ending and with the excpetion of a blip or two here or there it's a pop perfection album.
December 29, 201014 yr Author http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Music/Pix/pictures/2010/12/16/1292509002282/Janelle-Monae-007.jpg #4 Artist: Janelle Monae Album: The ArchAndroid Peaked: #2 I think it was actually Eliza Doolittle who blocked this to #1 bizzarly. WHAT WAS I THINKING. Mark noted on his countdown how this album was too long, and yeap, that probably is a fair point and truth be told is why I had to leave this outside the top 3. Janelle though delivers so much that I couldnt place it any lower, it's a fantastic album, and with the potential to appeal to everyone. Is there anyone out there who's heard this album and not loved it? Everything about her screams how brilliant she is. Her appearance on Letterman spoker volumes, her stage presence was brilliant, and she has all the charisma and charm needed. The videso for 'Tightrope' and 'Cold War' were superb. She oozes potential to do anything and everything. Brilliant.
December 29, 201014 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/31/Gabriella_Cilmi_Ten.jpg/220px-Gabriella_Cilmi_Ten.jpg #3 Artist: Gabriella Cilmi Album: Ten Peaked: #1 Sorry Nadine but for me this actually, is probably the Best pure pop record of the year. And coincidentally Gabz flopped on her arse this year aswell. CURSE OF ALED. There just really isnt anything that isnt marvellous on this album, and if forced to pick some, I'd probably go for the second and third single. Which either shows how good the album is or how bad she is at choosing singles. It all of course has to boil down to 'On A Mission' which really was one of the best songs of the year, Cilmi herself oozes wonderfulness with her powerful vocals, and there may be a few issues with generica here and there but who cares. It's a brilliant Pop album and nothing more, nothing less.
December 29, 201014 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/6f/Bodytalkrobyn-pt3-Cover300dpi.jpg/220px-Bodytalkrobyn-pt3-Cover300dpi.jpg #2 Artist: Robyn Album: Body Talk Peaked: #1 This by the way, is all three parts combined together. And for anyone wondering, Part 2>Part 3>Part 1. And it easily could have been #1 if Part1 was just a tiny bit considerbly not quite as good as Part 2. Robyn has always been consistently amazing and this certainly didnt change things, this era again shows her capable of pretty much everything and anything. 'Dancing On My Own' will feature very high indeed on the singles countdown, and if I ever saw her live I think I'd die reasonably happy. I also have a theory she actually is God in a human form.
December 29, 201014 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/30/Marinathefamilyjewels.jpg/220px-Marinathefamilyjewels.jpg #1 Artist: Marina & The Diamonds Album: The Family Jewels Peaked: #1 Is this an unexpected #1? I'm not sure, I did make it clear through the year how much I adored all the singles and the album but still, I suppose everyone was probably expecting Pixie blooming Lott or someone instead. Marina was not someone I instantly took to either, really wasnt much of a fan of 'Mowglis Road' to begin with, though it is now quite a favourite. It was difficult deciding what to place at #1 aswell, Robyn, Monae and Cilmi all put in fantastic albums aswell but this had to triumph on top simply because I can always listen to it from start to finish and enjoy every track. Marina is quirky of sorts but not in an overbearing or tryhard manor and the various styles seen through the album are all equally enoyably amazing. Marina also kinda flopped this year. CURSE OF ALED Part 456. But yeap, this is my favourite albm of the year definatly, an absoulute gem.

December 31, 201014 yr Author http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/i_blame_coco_601.jpg #100 I Blame Coco In Spirit Golden 27-24-15-28-39 Very nearly not making the cut, only me deciding not to include ‘Rolling In The Deep’ until next year saving her which I’m sure she’s very happy about it. For anyone who’s been living in a hole, just been released from prison or has been to interested too in Katy Perry for the last few months to be interested in anything else, Coco is the daughter of Sting, who after releasing a stellar number of wonderful singles followed it all up with a disappointing album. It was difficult deciding wherever to include either this or ‘Self Machine’ but ultimately ‘In Spirit Golden’ manages to take it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/leona2.jpg #99 Leona Lewis I Got You 34-29-35-23-16-20-13-06-06-04-09-19-27-42-50 The Queen Horse’s only single this year, and I think quite universally agreed to be her weakest to date. The second single from second album ‘Echo’, it has a nice video and is her first to miss the top 10. There really is nothing else to say about it I’m afraid. Not the BEST choice of single to attempt to save an era that was perhaps not going quite as well as planned was it Mr Cowell? http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/aggro_santos_600.jpg #98 Aggro Santos feat Kimberley Wyatt Candy 27-39-47 Now I’ve been to AggroSantos.com and I can tell you something, it’s a bit $h!t. Here we see Aggro Santos, who appears to have had the shortest career in history, seeing as he popped up on I’m A Celebrity only 6 months later, team up with the real psycho nutcase of The Pussycat Dolls, Kimberley. It was cheesy, and cheap, but also, kind of awesome. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/christina_aguilera_602.jpg #97 Christina Aguilera Not Myself Tonight 22-11-08-07-11-06-18-33-46 Oh Christina. What happened. Well this happened really. ‘Not Myself Tonight’ suffered a lot from Lady GaGa Comparisments and its unfortunate to say that they’re rather true, the video in particular suffering a lot in this department. There isn’t a great deal to say really, it’s a good track clearly but failed big time to live up to expectations.
January 3, 201114 yr Author http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/keri_hilson_600.jpg #96 Keri Hilson Pretty Girl Rock 06-03-06-15-25-39 ‘Don’t hate me cos I’m beautiful’ said desperate wannabe Keri, and well after that lyric I was hooked. I identified so much you see since I too have been discriminated against due to my insane beauty. Don’t know why Keri was singing this though, her clearly being an 8.5 at best. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/robyn_602.jpg #95 Robyn Indestructible 42-28-19-09-09-20-37 First of three appearances this year for the Big lesbian ho. The weakest for me by far of the three Body Talk singles but still kind of amazing, what with Robyn being unable to do anything wrong, ever. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/pink_601.jpg #94 Pink Raise Your Glass 15-09-06-10-19-28-43 The inevitable greatest hits promotion single can go either way, and for Pink it went in the direction of sounding like all of her other singles joined together. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/alphabeat_600.jpg #93 Alphabeat DJ 16-10-07-13-21-30-40-50 Poor BRAVE Alphabeat. It’s all gone to pot a bit really, not helped by their very disappointing second album of whom this was the only single worth bothering with.
January 3, 201114 yr wow that i blame coco girl looks so much like alexa chung! and no rihanna - loud?? didn't you like this new album?
January 3, 201114 yr Author Nah not really I'm afraid. I know everyone else really adores it but for me, 'Only Girl', 'S&M' & 'Whats My Name' aside there was nothing worth bothering with. I'd go as far to say that I really disliked quite a lot of the album.
January 7, 201114 yr Author http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/kelis_dog_600.jpg #92 Kelis Acapella 38-33-48-46-48 Kelis triumphed with a great return this year, which frankly I don’t think anyone was expecting in particular given how much of an arse she made of herself earlier in the year given her pro-fur stance. All was forgotten & forgiven after this beauty though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/sophie_ellis_bextor_602.jpg #91 Sophie Ellis Bextor Bittersweet 34-17-11-07-06-08-20-33-49 17 delays later and Bextor finally unleashed the first proper single from STILL unreleased fourth album. On a technicality four singles have been relesead if taken into account the three collabs. Get a move on you dozy mare already. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/mark_ronson_602.jpg #90 Mark Ronson & Buisness Intl Somebody To Love Me 46-19-12-08-15-30-33 Like Coco beforehand was somewhat unsure which of Ronsons singles to include here but in the end it had to be this one. A complete beauty, and despite the fact Boy George didn’t write it himself, it fits so perfectly you’d swear he had. http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-snc4/hs471.snc4/50416_7681237061_6552752_n.jpg #89 Cristal Snow Surrender 13-06-11-18-36-50 Marvellous video alone should make this worthy of a top 100 placing, crazy sex-craved zombies pretty much says it all.
January 8, 201114 yr Author http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/daisy_dares_you_601.jpg #88 Daisy Dares You feat Chipmunk Number One Enemy 23-11-08-05-06-08-07-07-06-15-22-32-47 Looking back, not sure why I liked this as much as I did to be honest. She has an odd looking face aswell don’t you think? http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/hurts_602.jpg #87 HURTS Stay 29-13-08-15-27-43) Moving to people with reasonably normal looking faces. The issue here is that I’ve said all that needed saying in the mini-reviews of the album. Anyway, this is beautiful. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/rox_600.jpg #86 Rox My Baby Left Me 25-16-13-08-06-15-29-40-50 Poor Brave Rox. So poor brave that she flopped so much that people still don’t have a clue who she is. http://media.paperblog.fr/i/68/682591/mylene-farmer-lens-peut-etre-pas-L-1.jpeg #85 Mylene Farmer Oui Mais Non 42-15-07-06-09 Second highest French record in the countdown fact fans. With Madonna now incapable of originality, I’d like to think she’d return with something like this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/paloma_faith_600.jpg #84 Paloma Faith Upside Down 34-17-11-08-07-11-15-30-40 The crazy cat lady makes her first of two appearances. My least favourite of her 5 singles I have to say but what with my slight obsession with her it obviously still had to make it. http://static.bbc.co.uk/music/images/reviews/222x222/fzx2.jpg #83 Charlotte Church Back To Scratch 13-06-05-09-16-27-38-46 It was somewhat underwhelming perhaps, but it was still rather great you have to admit. Queen Churchy returned this year fresh from being the only competent judge on Andrew Lloyd Webbers latest monster of death, and promptly flopped on her arse. Rejoice. http://www.clashmusic.com/files/imagecache/big_node_view/files/noisettes_2.jpg #82 Noisettes Saturday Night 21-09-06-05-08-17-30-39-49 Dont know what happened with the Noisettes in the last half of this era, they just sort of flunged out as many videos as possible and claimed them off as singles I think. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/david_guetta_600.jpg #81 David Guetta & Chris Willis feat Fergie & LMFAO Gettin’ Over You 41-22-11-18-26-37-45 Kind of amazing collaboration, which surprisingly got to #1 on the actual chart. Really don’t remember that.
January 8, 201114 yr Author Well something like that in English clearly. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! Not that French Madge wouldnt be amazing of course. January 8, 201114 yr Well something like that in English clearly. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! Not that French Madge wouldnt be amazing of course. The only thing that saves Oui Mais Non from being the most generic thing OF ALL TIME is the fact that it's in French, so if Madge actually did return with something like that in English, it would be curtains for her as a contemporary pop artist :drama: I wonder if she's considered recording a bilingual album with 12 tracks, each one in a different language :o Surely if anyone can bring the German language back to the UK top ten, it's her!
January 8, 201114 yr Author I wonder if she's considered recording a bilingual album with 12 tracks, each one in a different language :o Surely if anyone can bring the German language back to the UK top ten, it's her! I've always wanted someone to do this! It would be brilliant, they could then release all 12 songs in the countries of whom said language is spoken in. This MUST happen. A good point regarding 'Oui Mais Non', though considering how Madonna's last material sounded like I'm finally expectting Red One and/or Guetta unfortunetly on the next album.

Indeed, it's rather shocking that such a concept has never been thought of :o It's the sort of thing I'd expect somebody like Shakira to do. Sadly, I agree. Guetta remixed her last terrible single Revolver so I fully expect him to feature somewhere on the next album...
January 9, 201114 yr Author http://2.bp.blogspot.com/___PPEAp9f5c/TC6NwMWhJqI/AAAAAAAAArQ/Pi41svLke8I/s1600/sky%20ferreira%20onws.jpg #80 Sky Ferreira Obsession Poor Sky Ferreira, all that hype and only a #68 smash to her name. And well, as much of a smug cow as she may come across half the time the songs remain amazing. I’ve named her a few times as someone who could be huge in 2011 but frankly I’m beginning to doubt that aswell. The more I think about it, the more convinced I become this is just Daisy Dares You again, because that small out of proportion face seems all too familiar. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/wanted_600.jpg #79 The Wanted All Time Low A boyband? I hear you cry. Yes, this is the year I threw all common decency aside and just decided to become a 12 year old girl and adore the latest boyband. The strange thing was though, is that other than being 80% amazingly attractive The Wanted are actually capable of making brilliant records. Boybands. Records which aren’t diabolical. Please do take note JLS. http://www.susanto.me/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Christina-Perri-300x300.jpg #78 Christina Perri Jar Of Hearts Now this is just a beautiful record and nothing more frankly. Stunning and just haunting, Perri and this record came to attention followings its use on one of the hundreds of dance shows in the US. I DEMAND EVERYONE GOES AND LISTENS TO THIS. DO IT NOW! http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/alexandra_burke_602.jpg #77 Alexandra Burke Broken Heels Not of course that this record makes any sense. How does Alexandra here expect to do anything better whilst wearing shoes that have broken? Stupid woman. I bet she fell over, banged her head and then decided that ‘Start Without You’ would be a good idea. Oh it all makes sense now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/christina_aguilera_602.jpg #76 Christina Aguilera You Lost Me Following the thing at #97, Christina decided to return to what she tends to do best to be honest. Amazing ballads. Of course by now, it was too late – much, much too late and the lyrics ended up being strangely poignant of Floptina’s own situation. Oh Chrissie.
January 15, 201114 yr Author http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/example_603.jpg #75 Example Last Ones Standing Well all the Example singles were amazing but for me this stood out as the best, not to mention how brilliant the video is. By far his best if you ask me. http://audioporncentral.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/nobody-s-playmate-kid-sister-is-a-serious-contender.jpg #74 Kid Sister Daydreaming Poor Kid Sister. This really should have been quite the hit for her really? There’s the adorable video, the fact that she herself is kind of adorable and well, yeap she just showers in ADORABILITY basically. I think I just made a word up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/erik_hassle_600.jpg #73 Erik Hassle Hurtful Good god, this really is just a countdown of who flopped on their arse this year isn’t it. If this countdown was a house, it would be a safe home for battered women probably. Erik here has a classic story, received hype and full Radio 1 support but still charted at a measly #68 or wherever. He has nice hair though I think. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.popeater.com/media/2010/10/starshell-superluva.jpg #72 Starshell Super Luva Mary J Blige has become a flop so presumably decided to focus all attention on LaNeah Menzises here. And as it happens focus all attention in the world of the Blige means ‘throw Lady GaGa B-Sides at her and hope for the best’. God bless you Mary J cos it worked out very, very well. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/images/beyonce_gaga_600.jpg #71 Lady GaGa & Beyonce Telephone GaGa looks very out of place here I think. Mostly because this record was actually a success. Imagine that. But yes, as overwhelming as it became to see it EVERYWHERE on this site the video for this is amazing. Therefore there are two reasons why this record isn’t $h!t 1) The video 2) Beyonce The end. Goodbye.
