I just love how dramatic this is basically. Some fantastic backing vocals aswell just help make this a fantastic song, and by far my favourite from him so far. (He's also very, very cute but we are ignoring this since I like to pretend that I dont base male artists on their looks at all)

Mary J Blige & Jay Sean

Each Tear

(12-05-04-02-02-03-09-16-26-31-44) 11 Weeks

Mary's material has over the years started decreasing in quality I've found, she's certainly no longer the powerhouse in the genre she use to be. But this rather goes against that for me, I mean, it's nothing new from her and she's done plenty of these type of songs beforehand but it doesnt mean it's not a very emotional, uplifting record. Equally, it's nice to see Jay Sean not featured on a record that isnt complete crap.

Alwyas been one of my Marina favourites, and I was rather overjoyed to see it released properly as a single. It's such a simple and beautiful song, elegently done, and just seems so effortlessly amazing.

Katy On A Mission

(34-12-07-03-05-08-12-21-25-30-36-43) 12 Weeks

Hated by many for being quite the chav anthem, I adored this record. And prefered it to the 3 Katy Perry singles. Which I feel was the last step needed to completly seperate myself from the BJ stereotype really.

I was quite suprised when seeing the video really, I was expecting her to look quite a bit like Mutya Buena only even more rough, but she actually looks like someone you'd leave your kids with. Suprising that.

But yes, this is amazing, and that is the end of the matter.

Just A Guy

I have no idea what happened to this really, upon first hearing it the initial hype was that this would go on to become a huge hit. Her having written Beyonce's 'If I Were A Boy' and everything, but nothing seems to have come. Infact, I think this is the only track in the top 50 without a video to it's name.

Totally dont get the Miley Cyrus comparisments either, that whore would never be able to come up with anything this amazing. It follows the Alexis Jordan pattern of being quite simple really, but it just works in an effortless way.

Suprisingly, this is the only song in the top 50 I'm slightly ashamed of. Yes, it's generic. Yes, it's nothing compared to some the brilliance relesead by 2.0, and yeap, they're probably going to flop next time round in what is probably the most painful girlband death in quite a while.

BUT, I cant help but love this. Not as much as I did in March I admit, maybe it's out of faithfulness to poor brave Heidi, but it's infectious. And in terms of personality and likeability, they've never had a better line-up if it's any consideration to them.

Whataya Want From Me

Adam Lambert to start out with, didnt click with me. 'For Your Entertainment' was good and all, but the lyrics just felt cringy at times. However, this was on instant of getting the album was my favourite. It's a fantastic beautiful record, and suprisingly, I even prefer Adam's version to the (original?) Pink version.

Touch

(15-08-06-03-03-03-04-10-09-15-21-29-39-48) 14 Weeks

There were a lot of floptastic comebacks in 2010, but I think Natasha possibly had the worst luck of all. The album missed the top 100 in the US, pretty much speaks for itself there.

Neverminding this however, she continued releasing epic singles like this, though it was 'officially' a buzz single. Though we all know that technically that means the label didnt expect it to flop but are trying to save face a little.

This has lovely gorgeous lyrics to it though, even if it does kinda of portray her as still being the psycho she was 3 years back a little. And she's a clumsy whore. Silly Natasha.

YES! I completely agree with you on Alexis, she's one of my favourite new artists because of the simplicity of her songs and styling. I love that she doesn't try too hard, and she's completely adorable too. Oh and 'Happiness' is obviously one of the best songs of last year, still hasn't gotten old for me yet!

Oh and I agree about Katy B and Marina's songs - Katy's songs especially seem to be massive growers.

Kylie Minogue

All The Lovers

(29-13-06-05-06-08-13-18-25-32-42) 11 Weeks

Someone who had a slightly more successful comeback though was Kylie 'Queen of the gays' Minogue. I'm fairly certain THE TOWER OF NAKEDNESS is 69% responsible for this however.

This track is just epic though, and probably her best in quite a few years and definatly a return to previous form. Kind of a shame she's now been reduced to guest appearances on Taio Cruz records.

Listening to this now for the first time in ages and I'd forgotten how much I completly loved it. Sabrina is just an amazing fierce bitch through the entire thing, the beat is amazing, she looks absoulutely amazing in the video (GaGa comparisments are inevitable but still) and she's about to have a nervous breakdown!

(37-13-05-03-03-04-09-17-32-44-49) 11 Weeks

For me Gwenno was always the best one of The Pipettes line-up beforehand, but it's still quite odd to think of them as the same band who maden 'Pull Shapes' and the likes. This is still a beauty of a record though, even if it should have been relesead under a different name in my opinion.

A completly different sound to the first album but it works very, very well.

Impossible

(08-05-03-03-02-02-02-01-02-04-10-15-20-25-39-48) 16 Weeks

I cant say I had much hope for Shontelles second era after hearing the disaster that was 'Licky' but the girl really turned things around with this. Cant decide if it beats 'Battle Cry' as my favourite single of hers to date but it's up there. Really nice emotional record, and a step up f=in maturity from her first set of singles. Don't quite think she'll really have 'Umbrella' scale hit that Rihanna had as many continue to predict though.

(33-08-04-02-06-12-21-31-43) 09 Weeks

Alongside Waving Flag, this was the only World Cup song that wasnt a bile of crap to be honest. And it also kind of saved Shakira massively from having an awful year, everything she releasead in 2010 just did nothing really.

It doesnt sound quite as amazing as it did back in July or whenever the World Cup actually was but it's still an amazingly catchy song.

A #1 from a very unlikely source it has to be said. I'd rather written Macy off after her failure with the last album but this really was massive return to form for her. A really nice, warm anthemic track that just 'lovely' really. Made even better by it's usage at the end of Ugly Betty I find.

All Night Long

In terms of her quality, it's been a year of up and downs for Burkinhead here. Actually scratch that, it's been a year of great tracks and also Start Without You. I loved her on X-Factor but she's kind of annoying now though, still, we can live in the acceptance she at least isnt Diana Vickers.

Anyway, the track. Love it. An amazing party anthem. And you know it's a good party when you have crayons stuck on your face as 1:10 in this video shows.

I can so understand why some people find this to be the most annoying song in creation. But it's so amazing though. The baby in the video, the fact she's only 10, the fact that QoL Jada gave birth to her, the video, the hair, the age...AMAZING.

Ah yes, Japayork. Not quite as cute in the video as he appears in other pictures, however this is the only downside to this utter tune. Remember Viktorious at #42? This is his rubbishgai cousin. Really amazing track on all levels.

The amazing Janelle relesead this as the follow to 'Tightrope', and is, in my opinion, even stronger. Marvellously beautiful, for me it was this track that cemented her as one of my favourite artists of the year. The video is just beautiful aswell.
