loved the episode and im gonna hate this gap. Like others I dabbled with the idea of River being linked with Amy at the start of the last series and then River being Amy's daughter when Amy fell pregnant and it was obvious when Amy named the baby Melody Pond.

I really should have seen that reveal coming but I was still convinced River would turn out to be either The Doctor's wife or daughter. And I didn't really link Amy's baby with River at all, I thought it would be the one in the spacesuit (although we don't know yet if that was actually River, it's only strongly implied) but I didn't think it was actually River.

Another brilliant episode - but I don't remember the Sontaran being an ally of the Doctor? In fact, I've completely forgotten the events of the Sontaran episode. Actually I've forgotten the events of most of season 4 :drama:

And why were there Cybermen at the beginning then there was no mention of them for the rest of the episode?

Ka-boom!

Basically used to send a message to Demon's Run.

I thought they could have been used better.

Apparently they appear in the 2nd half of the series

I think the Sontaran (and the Silurian as well) were supposed to be old friends of the Doctor that we've never actually seen on screen before, but owe the Doctor a debt, for saving their life or whatever in the past.

Anyway, it gives a lot more depth to the universe.

The Sontarans from season 4 were a different bunch with a 'take over the earth' motive. And usually, Sontarans are enemies of the Doctor, just not always enemies like the Daleks and Cybermen are.

Great episode, even though I had thought about the possibility of River being Amy's daughter there was countless other theories floating in my head too so it was still a bit surprising and great to finally know the truth.

I can't help but feel that the woman with the eye patch is also River Song/Melody Pond......it's a thought that struck me that she looked a bit like an older version of River Song.

Edit: Although now that I think of it, that would have caused a paradox wouldn't it? Hmm I still think they look related....

I'm actually a bit annoyed I didn't twig it when we first learned the babies name was Melody Pond....since there's a connection between the words.

edit: Also, I just found out there's some doctor who comic? Does anyone know if I can read it online somewhere?

She can still be The Doctor's wife too. Don't forget they kissed.

I just watched an old episode of Doctor Who called "The Happiness Patrol". It had the seventh doctor in it.

It was fairly good but I still prefer the newer version. That happiness patrol didn't seem awfully happy at all. :P

You have toi bear in mind that the budget for the original series was tiny.

Now I don't know if I'm being a bit slow here.

River said that Gallifreyan can't be translated, like on the side of the cot. So how did the TARDIS translate it on the diamond cliffs at the near start of the Universe in The Pandorica Opens??

I may be wrong but I think she may have just meant that particular word doesn't translate. Like how 'Pond' doesn't translate into the Gamma Forest language.

She didn't write it in Gallifreyan :)

She wrote it in the first ever language or something like that...

Well there we go, mystery solved. Brain starting to speed up

OMG,

we should most definitely continue insignificant parts of this thread in spoilers just to make it worse for Slick

I just can't believe

that Slick isn't actually reading these, but it is fun to badger out the words to make it look like we're saying more and thus making it even harder for him to avoid!

:o :w00t:

That's brilliant and possibly one of the single best things ever.

Oh and also

How long can we keep it up?

A while longer I hope!. Just need to pad this one out a bit more and done

:o

Really?

Do you really think he won't figure it out eventually since we're overusing spoilers?

:o

I can't believe that for a second.

BANDWAGON  < that smiley might confuse him - what could I be angry about? :D

Ah well, at least we now know

STOP! HAMMERTIME.

. :(

This sounds amazing! :w00t: :w00t:Jumping on the bandwagon

I just heard that

My cat is called Charlie

:o

seriously though he could figure this out just by quoting one of our posts

:(

TWATS. I hate you all.

LOL. First time I've laughed at a bunch of Doctor Who fans for the right reasons. Oh, you guys!

(lolpoorslick)

Ha! I'd totally forgotten about it too. I had every intention of continuing it after each episode. Darn!
