April 2, 201312 yr Here's a question. In that book where she crosses off her age every year, why did she skip the age of 23? She skipped age 16, too. Many fans have been speculating that those being missed out are intentional hints from Moffat, because 16 was the age Doctor Who was when Shada should have been broadcast, and Series 23 was originally not produced, so another Series 23 took its place the following year. There are also other fans speculating that 16 (one of Clara's missing years) + 23 (another of Clara's missing years) + 11 (the Doctor's current incarnation) = 50 (the golden anniversary year). There's also some people saying that 23 is the age Clara was when she appeared in The Snowmen - but if she were 16 in Asylum of the Daleks, it's a bit hard to believe. Another going around is that Clara was 16 in 2003, the year that the decision to resurrect Doctor Who two years later was made, and she was 23 years old in 2010, the year that Matt Smith came to the helm. Clara is the most unique companion, and indefinitely has so many connections to the show's past (given she is the companion for the show's 50th anniversary), especially considering her date of birth is the day that the show was first broadcast. It's so hard to tell at this stage what all of the dates/clues/hints/story/arc means, but I'm sure by the end of Series 7, we'll have a few answers. Hopefully we'll get more in the 50th anniversary, but she's signed up for Series 8, so we could well be a long way off from finding out who she is, or what she is.
April 2, 201312 yr I like those speculations but I hope it's something more related to the actual plot.
April 2, 201312 yr I like those speculations but I hope it's something more related to the actual plot. Yeah, I hope so too. It would be a bit disappointing if all of these dates, etc are all just for the sake of pleasing fans who have kept with the show since the very beginning, or know of its history, and what happened when... :( Anyway, turns out we might get the answer about the leaf in The Rings of Akhaten: Arguably the most persuasive section is the prologue, before we reach Akhaten, a flurry of poignant moments in which the Doctor checks out Clara’s background and learns the significance of her dried maple leaf (seen last episode pressed inside her old book, 101 Places to Visit). From The Radio Times.
April 2, 201312 yr Author The title is: Blue Amends That title was denied by David Tennant's Facebook page - I doubt Steven Moffat would let it leak so early! :P Great to hear of more additions to the cast - Joanna Page will be a great guest character :D
April 2, 201312 yr That title was denied by David Tennant's Facebook page - I doubt Steven Moffat would let it leak so early! :P Great to hear of more additions to the cast - Joanna Page will be a great guest character :D Moffat's sense of humour is different. He'd likely want the title to be revealed, only for it to be dramatically changed later down the line. Same thing when the announcement about The Doctor's Wife was made on 1 April 2013 last year, everybody thought it was an April Fools joke, so he said he'd keep that in mind if fans think the most important announcements are jokes. :P I really hope Joanna's not exposed too much throughout the special, though. She's a good actress, but from Gavin & Stacey if you watch her for too long, the accent becomes so irritating.
April 2, 201312 yr It's official, the Zygons are in the 50th Anniversary special! Do not click the link below if you do not want it spoiled! https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hpho...525531316_n.jpg Personally cannot wait! :w00t: Edited April 2, 201312 yr by Calum Sandé

April 3, 201312 yr Possible major spoiler regarding who Joanna Page is playing: photos suggest that she is Queen Elizabeth I. Wow! This episode already sounds absolutely fantastic! :o
April 3, 201312 yr Joanna's had her hair dyed ginger for the role! http://i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article1806340.ece/ALTERNATES/s1227b/FEE-Dr-Who-50th-anniversary-1806340.jpg
April 4, 201312 yr Author Sylvester McCoy has said that no 20th Century Doctors will appear in the anniversary special, so that means there'll be a maximum of three (although we all know Christopher Ecclestone won't return) in it :(
April 4, 201312 yr Sylvester McCoy has said that no 20th Century Doctors will appear in the anniversary special, so that means there'll be a maximum of three (although we all know Christopher Ecclestone won't return) in it :( GOOD. As good as it would be to pay tribute to the show's history, Doctors 4-7 look VERY different, 8 looks OK (but what story could include him?), and 1-3 would obviously have to be used with computer technology. But Big Finish Audios have said they will be including the classic Doctors, so I suppose that's a plus! ^_^
April 5, 201312 yr Author No Christopher Eccleston either, as confirmed by the BBC. Steven Moffat did have talks about it with him though.
April 5, 201312 yr No Christopher Eccleston either, as confirmed by the BBC. Steven Moffat did have talks about it with him though. That's a shame. :( I presume Moffat has his full compliment of Doctors then (David Tennant and Matt Smith), given that Doctors 1-8 were ruled out of the equation.
April 5, 201312 yr It better be all about 10th and Rose or else. Filming started about three days ago, and so far Billie's not been seen on set, it's just been David, Matt, Jenna, Joanna and the Zygon. Could be a while until we hear how major/minor Billie's role is going to be.
April 6, 201312 yr That wasn't a bad episode, quite enjoyable to watch, and less characters been used, I loved the array of different aliens in the episode, reminds me of Quark's Bar in Star Trek, DS9. 9/10 Next week's episode looks a bit dodgy all set in a submarine
April 6, 201312 yr That was absolutely fantastic, despite the reviews saying it was terrible (mind you, they said that about The Bells of Saint John too, and that was still fantastic!). I loved all of Clara's scenes, and the scenes where they explained the leaf, and showed Clara through the years (and her mother and father) really was touching. The whole feel of the episode was very The End of the World like, and the scene where the Doctor fed the old God's appetite was rather emotional. Overall, a very strong episode - with a great ending. Although Merry singing the songs was a bit cringe-worthy at first, it got rather emotional, but I feel that the Vigil were underused. They had great potential at the beginning, but could have been more frightening had they not just been in it for a few moments. :( Next week's looks just as fantastic, and I can't wait for the Ice Warriors' return! :w00t:
April 6, 201312 yr I wasn't at all impressed with this episode. There wasn't a lot of PLOT going on really was there? Rather slow-paced for Doctor Who which led me to presume it was building up to something but it didn't. I hope there's more to that whole leaf escapade than THAT too.
