so glad they're back...

one of my best bands ever... even though this song sounds too stuck in the early 90's.

I Cant see this doing great and i agree its very 90's, i like roxette and always have and their greatest hits just shows how many great tracks they have done over the years, great that we will get a new album from them.

The chorus is a bit flat. :mellow:

Its not as good as the Joyride era

i dont think they will ever be as good a sthe joyride era but they are still making decent music.

It does sound very dated, but I can't seem to get this off my head now!

 

If this album sounds anything like "Run To You", "A Thing About You" and "How Do You Do!" then I'm happy :D

I used to LOVE Roxette in the 90's but i agree that this sounds very dated and forgettable. They'll clearly never recapture the magic of their early stuff but they should at least try a more current sound. Does anyone know if they still do well in Europe?

The single is top20 in Germany and should be a hit in Austria too.

 

However, its the album that deserves some attention, should go top10 in several markets, and probably #1 in Germany

They do have some success in Europe and they're still quite massive in South Africa and South America. Their world tour is selling out in several countries, especially Sweden (of course), South Africa, Poland, Argentina and Brazil.

In the first weekend of its release, Charm School managed to reach the upper regions of the iTunes Album charts in Europe. The new album made it to the Top 10 in not less than 11 countries. Besides that, even A Collection Of Their 20 Greatest Hits! pops up in the charts in Germany (at #10) and Austria (at #8). By anyone's standards, this appears to be a great comeback!

What can they really do if they're generally seen as an irrelevant act, and thus leading to zero radio support and stuff?

I think they could get picked up by Radio 2

There are four songs on Spotify and I really like 'She's Got Nothing on' and 'No One Makes It on Her Own'
