Posted December 19, 201014 yr I've almost finished collating them into a final running order but can exclusively reveal there will be Pop, Indie, Metal, Hip Hop, Electronica and erm... Horrorpunk. So if anyone cares the speculation can begin. Edited December 19, 201014 yr by Severin
December 19, 201014 yr Author #50 GNS4CR7vP4c Alkaline Trio - This Addiction Lead off single from the album of the same name. Not their best but proof theiy're not quite treading water just yet. One of the best bands I've had the pleasure of seeing live this year. This came out around February and of course didn't trouble the UK record buying public. Edited December 19, 201014 yr by Severin
December 19, 201014 yr Author #49 px8v29wKyE0&feature=fvw Stone Sour - Mission Statement From the album Audio Secrecy. Lead by Xmas chart surprise entrant Corey Taylor of Slipknot fame. Stone Sour are generally more commercial sounding than Slipknot and this is about as heavy as they get. Another act I had the pleasure of seeing live this year and it was again great even if I did lose my camera down the front
December 19, 201014 yr Author #48 MTvgnYGu9bg Muse - Neutron Star Collision (Love Is forever) From the Eclipse soundtrack and OK so it sounds like an outtake from The Resistance but it's an indication of just how good they are that even a throwaway track like this is better than many other bands best works this year.
December 20, 201014 yr Author #47 Jpm4eJ6l1n4 The Drums - Best Friend This took a while to click with me and i was only after my son kept telling me how much he liked it and singing along to it that I finally fell for it. Not sure why but I can't help thinking of Marc Almond when I hear that voice
December 20, 201014 yr Author #46 OqBTL-HWPvA Arcade Fire - Month Of May Of the two tracks I heard early on this was far better than The Suburbs and although I like both this still remains a highlight of the album for me.
December 20, 201014 yr Author #45 _tl3zhbWrBY&feature=related Band Of Skulls - I Know What I Am Evoking the spirit of Jack White this was the 1st track by them I came across and although I suspect this may have originally come out in 2009 it was definately re-issued this year so I'm counting it. Great band.

Good to see another Alk3 fan on here :D love this track, it's far from their best but still brillant. Sadly for me they werent one of the best bands I had the pleasure of seeing live this year and when i saw them (and this is sadly the only time i have seen them, so i was pretty excited) but the sound was f***ing awful, couldn't hear the vocals at all, everyone was just shouting "turn it up, turn it up" between every song, such a shame after walking around a festival all day wearing a Alkaline Trio t-shirt having random people high five me for it and coming up to me saying lyrics. dissapointment. hopefully i'll catch them again sometime soon. #48 Muse - Neutron Star Collision (Love Is forever) From the Eclipse soundtrack and OK so it sounds like an outtake from The Resistance but it's an indication of just how good they are that even a throwaway track like this is better than many other bands best works this year. Can't say I ever thought much of this track, but unlike my bad experience seeing Alk3, Muse were one of the best bands i had the pleasure of seeing this year, - just wow. Great list so far, best out of this whole forum, i'll have to start stalking your last.fm.
December 20, 201014 yr Author Cheers Chris :D I was fortunate to get tickets for the Trio fan club warm up show at Highbury Garage where they basically played all the fan faves and I was about 4 yards away from Matt. Couldn't go wrong really Edited December 20, 201014 yr by Severin
December 20, 201014 yr Cheers Chris :D I was fortunate to get tickets for the Trio fan club warm up show at Highbury Garage where they basically played all the fan faves and I was about 4 yards away from Matt. Couldn't go wrong really oh i knew about that, sounds really cool, the Reading setlist wasnt too bad it's just you couldnt hear it <_< would have liked more From Here To Infirmary. The more Godamnit and FHTI the better for me, i like all their albums quite a bit but those two i just listen to all the time.
December 23, 201014 yr Author #44 94bGzWyHbu0 Avenged Sevenfold -- Nightmare OK so the album was slightly disappointing and there's some pointless and slightly embarrassing swearing in this track but it's largely what they do best. Also they had to overcome the death of their drummer and chief songwriter so kudos for coming up with something half decent. Another band I had the pleasure of live this year.
December 23, 201014 yr Author #43 vM8fEP8FOqE Zola Jesus -- Night This girl has kind of ruled the latter part of this year for me and it's all thanks to Dandy. He posted he'd bought the album and between that and the cover it was enough for me to investigate. What I found within was the closest I've ever found to capturing Siouxsie Sioux's haunting and exotic beauty on record beside the lady herself. She makes fabulous videos too.
December 23, 201014 yr Author #42 FDTUAgMu6VU Belle And Sebastian -- Write About Love Not a band I usually go for but this has a lovely 60s feel and wonderous harmonies. Echoes of Mamas & The Papas, The Monkees and all kind of 60s joy.
December 23, 201014 yr Author #41 1hEQd-1XdIs The Strange Boys -- Be Brave More 60s stylings here but this time sounding like an old Kinks track. Rough around the edges and sounding like it was recorded in a garage this could easily get put on a Nuggets compilation without being too out of place. This was all over 6music earlier this year and then they disappeared from sight.

December 28, 201014 yr Author #40 oBRsXKgRAHc Mystery Jets -- Dreamin Of Another World Right from the opening bars and into the synths this grabbed me pretty much straight away. Not a lover of them but this and a couple of others are great. Typical 'Indie' track it may be but there's somethign very pleasant about them. Very much a singkes band for me.
December 28, 201014 yr Author #39 8AV_tcYqyxY Die So Fluid -- Mercury OK so I may be biased what with her being an old friend and all that but she's been in the business now for around 20 years and that says something. Singer Grog is the former singer with the bands Flinch, Feline and Ultraviolet and has been part of the touring bands for among others Ozzy Osbourne and erm.. Mel C. She also has some of the best pins in the business. Not their best track by any means but solid.
December 28, 201014 yr Author #38 KP7mxcvGejQ Chromeo -- Don't Turn The Lights On If you're going to rip off the 80s at least do it well, and this as note perfect as you can get. Sounds like it came out of 1985 straight away and has the melody and hook to pull it off. I'm quite amazed this didn't do much better.
December 28, 201014 yr Belle And Sebastian -- Write About Love Not a band I usually go for but this has a lovely 60s feel and wonderous harmonies. Echoes of Mamas & The Papas, The Monkees and all kind of 60s joy. Great choice! Although their album has better songs too. But I'm a fan so my opinion might differ a lot from the more objective critics
December 28, 201014 yr Author #37 eEn-nTkbEM0 Stone Sour -- Say You'll Haunt Me The actual official single from the album Audiosecrecy an it's much more typical of Stone Sour than Slipknot or certain dubious Christmas singles by Mr. Corey. Didn't grab me at first but hung around the lower end of my weekly plays and finally came out at #37 in my list of most liked songs of 2010.
