Posted December 21, 201014 yr Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I did a search and nothing came up, if I missed it, please delete this thread!! A status update on facebook said: The Inbetweeners Movie is coming! That's right, Will, Simon, Jay and Neil are heading for the big screen and we're all very excited. To see how you and your friends can get involved, head to www.e4.com/inbetweeners now. ....So I had a little look on Wikipedia and found out..... The Inbetweeners is an upcoming film directed by Ben Palmer, who directed all six episodes of the second series of The Inbetweeners. Even though the plot has yet to be confirmed, what has been announced is that the film will follow the four boys on holiday in Crete. It is currently filming on location in Malia, Crete. It stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison, who all play their respective characters from the 2008 sitcom. Film 4 is funding the film, and it will be released in cinemas sometime during 2011. Not much is known except that the four boys all go away on holiday to Malia, without their parents. :D
December 21, 201014 yr Look forward to it. I went to Malia last year on a drinking holiday so I'm hoping to see some stuff I saw there...
December 21, 201014 yr yeah this isnt new news at all we just didnt have a thread on it as it was mostly being talked about in the series 3 thread. quite often films based on sitcoms are normally bad, but i love the inbetweeners so i dont know. more excited about the tv specials afterwards.
December 21, 201014 yr I'd say this will probably end up like the Kevin and Perry Go Large movie did - a fair enough movie that does the job but isn't anything groundbreaking or particularly amazing. But then, that was always the view I took with The Inbetweeners...
December 21, 201014 yr ^ ditto! looking forward to this but like chris says i'm more excited for the tv secials afterwards
December 22, 201014 yr I thought they where going to Magaluf? i heard Malia months ago, infact they already filmed some in Malia this summer.
December 24, 201014 yr Looking forward to this. I can imagine this being the ultimate teen movie to see this summer for us Brits.
December 24, 201014 yr Looking forward to this. I can imagine this being the ultimate teen movie to see this summer for us Brits. oh easily, you only need to look at the popularity of the tv show, it's like you're an outcast from society if you don't watch it, this will be making loads just for the fact most teens will probaly be making an effort to go see it. Inbetweeners is sort of like our American Pie in a way.
December 27, 201014 yr You can apply to be an extra in the film lol: http://www.e4.com/inbetweeners/film-application.html
December 31, 201014 yr Any word of what other characters will be appearing in the film. Apparently Carly is.
December 31, 201014 yr Well it wouldn't be The Inbetweeners without Carli would it, given that Simon needs to spend a good 80% of the time stalking her.
January 1, 201114 yr Well Carly barely appeared in series 3 so the movie could easily work without her. It had a lack of females in series 3 compared to the first two series. I would of liked to have seen more Charlotte.
January 3, 201114 yr Tara, Simon's ex girlfriend is in the movie. The guy who does The Biz Section in The Sun did an article in which he got a chance to read the script and confirmed it.
January 7, 201114 yr I might give this a miss. The third series was almost entirely awful and if they didn't have enough jokes for the series then I can't see them having any decent ones for a film.
January 7, 201114 yr The third series had the best ratio of amazing episodes to filler episodes, FACT.
January 7, 201114 yr The third series had the best ratio of amazing episodes to filler episodes, FACT. *worst ratio
