I’m sorry to see the forum closed, I haven’t visited for a couple of days as I’ve been unwell; did Rachel not forewarn people she was closing it? :(

I don’t think anyone should be blaming themselves for not using it enough. The idea of a Darius forum is to talk about Darius, his music and performances, and with him living away and not much news to be had its inevitable his forum will get less use.

I know my opinion won’t be popular but Darius himself could and should have left the odd message on there for his fans as he had in the past, a thank you for his birthday present would have been a nice polite gesture for starters.

However Darius’ music and talent never disappoint and I hope we have more to come in the future. :)

A lot viewed rather than post to avoid the negative responces often received. We'll just have to wait and see what he comes up with next.

I have to agree with what Sooz says Im afraid. It has been difficult enough to find out what he is doing and although I do keep a look out there were a couple on Sonnets site who were very good at this, does this mean he will lose yet more fans as those over there who dont visit here perhaps wont know what is going on. I find it hard to understand why he appears happy with this if he has an album coming out. I cant help but feel there is such a talent going to waste. I will continue posting here and hope that things improve on his front in the future.

Wasn't it a little piece in a local paper about one of the choirs, spotted by a keen eyed fan which alerted us to the fact Darius was singing at the Big Sing in the Albert Hall that very week? I'd have really loved to have gone to that. I do like Church music but not the high pitched choral stuff.

I've stopped trying to comprehend the thinking of Darius's "people" - it doesn't bear any relationship to any logic I understand.

News will be received by Rachel in the normal way and will be added to the home page of her site.
I haven't posted on the Forum for some time and was getting a little fed up with all the petty arguments etc on there which seemed to be getting more frequent! I think Rachel has done a sterling job over the years and at least we will have the main site to go to for any news etc

Whilst I have every respect for Rachel's decision, and am saddened by the closure and the end of another chapter, I am also extremely disappointed and annoyed that I have had to find out the news "second hand". Were it not for another B.J. member letting me know, I would still be wondering when the maintainance or whatever was going to be over.

A little notice would have been nice so that we could have at least said our formal "thanks" and "goodbyes" to Rachel and the moderating team. After so many years it would have been good to have had a proper end. Now it just feels sour. Sorry.

Well i'm very angry! No notice, nothing! Many of us have info in PM'S such as addresses, e mails etc that now we can't access. Most people had built up friends on there and now have NO chance of getting in touch. Not everyone has facebook, my space or bebo.

If she was so busy i'm sure others members could have helped to run it if she had bothered to ask. Whilst Rachel "ran" the website it felt like "ours", somewhere to build support, arrange meetings and be collective. Now that has gone and a big fanbase too. Darius fans have been waiting a long time for even a mention of something tangeable. Now i fear when it comes it will be too late.

I too depended on just bringing up the relevant pms on Pachel's site. I'm a real devil for not taking note of things or backing up. Some day I will learn my lesson.

Perhaps we could have a new thread on here where we could post our .net usernames to allow a few contacts to be remade via the pms on here.

Thing is i'm not too keen on this site, it seems too big and not as cosy and friendly. I get confused by everyone having diff names and i'm not sure if i want to re learn everyone's "other" name.

Also i can other see alternate posts, just the even number posts which makes it hard to follow!
Well, no-one's twisting your arm, Feenix.

Feenix we are or were all members of Dariusmusic so dont let the size of this site as a whole put you off. This is Darius's own section which is like a site on its own.

I have to say that although this is a very large music site, I post only in here and read lots of other forums which interest me. That's the strength of this site I think. If a topic catches my eye, I post but mainly I stay here.

There is no clique here. Everyone is welcome.

I just keep a direct link to the Darius Danesh forum index page on my favourites and access Buzzjack via that.

I'm maria194 on .net

I only ever posted in the Darius section of .net

  • Author
I also only posted in the daius section. of net. However I do see why there is the reaction of feenix and others as I had expected a notice to be posted on net but something must have instigated this suddenly.
I agree with Feenix that some notice would have been appreciated. I had a fair bit of info saved on the 'notebook' part of my personal info and would have liked time to retrieve it. To be honest, though, the Forum had lately become a chore to read and I only used to visit out of a sense of duty, but to be honest most of the social threads were taken up with the annoying ramblings of teenagers or attention seeking c**p from people who should have more respect for themselves.

I haven't checked my e-mails yet to see if there's any message.

Perhaps the shutdown was not instigated by Rachel but by the owners of the forum. I have absolutely no knowledge about what was being said on any of the general forums. In heated discussions sometimes people can verge on libel or other legally challenging matters.

Feenix, have you checked your E-mail inbox ? Aren't your P.M. messages duplicated on there? If so you could retrieve your

friends' E-mail addresses etc from there. Just trying to help.

The very abrupt ending of Rachel's forum has upset all of us. I only occasionally posted on there, but it was always a valuable source

of information, and we shall all miss it.

If you do decide to join us you will soon become accustomed to our 'user' names.
