My final chart of the year is usually really static and whilst this is "technically" my Christmas chart, it's not so much different from last week apart from three new entries.

 

'Lights On' is great and moreso because of Ms Dynamite. Odd to think Ms Dynamite was supposed to be the next big British artist in 2003 yet she just faded away as qucikly as she arrived.

 

My chart is always fairly ecclectic, I don't just stick to one genre all the time otherwise it gets tedious and boring. I like a bit of Crystal Castles alongside Coldplay, Rihanna and Patrick Wolf. All very different but all very good. :D

 

I discovered Frida Sundemo's track when it was entered into Unknown Pleasures III and has been by far my best discovery to date. Sadly the video has been removed from YouTube. <_< :(

Decent entry for Pyro, good chart overall :D

I'd seen the video (albeit odd) for 'Pyro' on MTV2 several times over the last week or two and really liked the song. First time I saw the video, for some reason I thought it was Mumford & Sons. :ph34r:

 

So yes, 'Pyro' charts this week. May stick around into 2011 but overall hasn't entered as high as 'Radioactive' which made #3 in my chart. 'Sex On Fire' remains their biggest hit though going stright to #1 back in 2008.

 

As for White Lies, I did check out their video on YouTube last week but listening to the song, I wasn't that impressed. There's still time for the track to grow on me (and this tends to happen every so often with particular tracks). Their biggest hit in my chart was 'To Lose My Life' which peaked at #3.

I feel like I was behind the times with this track as I'd seen this charting high up - even #1 in other personal charts but didn't know when it was getting released. Then I realised it was released Xmas week so thought it was the perfect oppotunity to make 'Not In Love' my Xmas no. 1 single.

It possibly will start dropping from next week, if not a fortnight from now. Thing is my next chart (01-01-11) will still be influenced by the Xmas tracks like this that I'm still listening too. I won't see any need for listening to a Christmas related track in late January so the plummet will be inevitable when it does happen.

Matt Cardle has done incredibly well to sell nearly 300k in his second week. I had a feeling Matt would benefit from two strong weeks of sales. I'm still convinced that Matt could potentially be the most successful male winner of X Factor - his only competition is Shayne Ward. So if Matt is still going in 2015 then he's done well for himself. Have to admit, if Matt had released his cover of 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' or 'Nights In White Satin' as his winners' single, I reckon he would've been more likely to be #1 in my chart. As for 'When We Collide', I like the song - I don't love the song. That's why this version hasn't done better or worse than Biffy Clyro's original. It's a good cover, but that's it. There's nothing new brought to the table.

Technically, I'm charting both versions but I never have two seperate entries for the same track. I just prefer the radio friendly 'Forget You!' version more.

I did see this in a couple of others charts a few months ago but didn't know what the song was then. It was only when the music started to get a lot of airplay that I realised who Alexis Jordan was. 'Happiness' is a great track and makes good use of the Deadmau5 instrumental.

I'm not really a ballads fan but if I do hear a ballad and I'm really impressed with the track then it will do well in my personal chart. Can't say I was a massive fan of 'Impossible' or 'What If' to be honest.

I liked both songs back in 2008. 'Sex On Fire' made #1 in my chart whilst 'Use Somebody' made #2. It's just that 'Use Somebody' seemed to get a lot more airplay to the point I was getting bored of seeing the video on the music channels nearly every day for 4 months solid. :lol:
