No.10 Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up

Peak: #5

Mini Commentary: A catchy little infectious tune, with a little 40s throwback theme tune to it, Eliza Doolittle is the mother of Frances Ruffelle and her grandmother is Sylvia Young. Great summer tune and peaked at No.5 in my chart.

Wow, this only got to #5 and is #10 on the EOY chart :o Surprised Cee-Lo missed the top ten too!

Frances is Eliza's mother actually :heehee:

No.9 Crystal Castles feat. Robert Smith - Not In Love

Peak: #4 [for 4wks]

Mini Commentary: A catchy tune with Robert Smith on vocals, with help from Crystal Castles. Robert Smith is well known for his 80s band the Cure, had hits like "Sanctuary" and the catchy tune, "The Love Cats" which put them on the music map. Crystal Castles feature twice in the year to date chart, lower down the chart at No.20 with "Celestica".

You're welcome. I was gutted somebody sent it to Unknown Pleasures (and won with it) after I'd discovered it a few weeks before and intended to send it to BJSC, it would have been one of my favourite entries of the year! Instead I sent some Swedish parody song

No.4 Sky Ferriera - One

Peak #1 [for 6wks]

Mini Commentary: One is an infectious hit once it gets lodged in your head, the track peaked at #1 for 6 weeks. The track "One" was used as my entry for BJSC and finished in 3rd placed. I hope she releases more hits in the near future as there is a lot of potential there, but she still needs to make her mark in the British music industry.

For me that was a great discovery of the year so much better than Punching In A Dream. I wouldn't have found a track like it, let's hope they break the British market.

I just found a Eminem and Alicia Keys unbeatable in the end, I know Kylie and Sky mustered 6 weeks at #1, but overall Alicia and Eminem were the longest stayers in the chart, which they deserved the top 2 positions over Kylie.

I would say the original is better, Rihanna's vocals sound much better than Part II.
