You can tell when a song is a classic 3+ years after its release, it was the biggest song when it was out, #1 on over 30 countries and sold 10million+ WW. Everyone knows Bleeding Love.

For example, Love The Way You Lie not even a year old, but you just know, like when Stan was out its going to be a classic. Some things are just obvious. Obviously it takes a few years to call a song a classic, but you know when a song has made such a huge impact it will be a classic. ^_^

You can tell when a song is classic at least 10 years after its release. New generations comes and not every generation got the same taste in music as the previous one.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a classic

Let It Be is a classic

Like A Prayer is a classic

Believe is a classic

Bleeding Love is not.

You've just listed old songs, yes they are classics, and...?

Bleeding Love is a classic, okay if you dont believe it right now after say 4 years, wait another 6 years, then you can call it a classic if you really want, no difference you're just being picky.

Guys, let's settle this once and for all.

Lights On is a really good song.

Bleeding Love is obviously going to be a classic.

Right, now you're even.

'Lights On' is a classic :cheer:

But seriously, every successful song seems to get called a classic on this forum. So it's whatever really. I've already been drawn into like 10 discussions about these kind of things on this forum before so I'm sitting out on this one

I didn't mean "Everyday female R'n'B song" when it comes to success. It's a very succesful song, no doubt. But it sold so much mostly because she was the X factor winner and it was her first single.

What I meant about "Everyday female R'n'B song" is that it's not unique and sounds like lots of other songs. There's no uniqueness about the song. That's why, in my eyes, it's not a classic.

Success doesn't equal a classic. Please lighten up.

Planet Funk's Chase The Sun hasn't sold a lot and hasn't been very succesful, but it's still a classic trance anthem.

I wasnt 'dissing' the song, i just then realised why he hated such a brilliant song so much, its because he likes something like Lights On. It just made me realise what his music taste is, not a dig as such just a realisation. ;)

sigh.. I cant even be bothered any more -_-

So tell me why Steve, Shayne, Leon, Alexandra and Joe all X Factor Winners have not experienced such huge success then? All X Factor Winners and have all had first singles. (no other x factor winner will experience the success of LL).

In America X Factor is nothing, and even worldwide, UK X Factor means nothing to them. Bleeding Love was such a huge success BECAUSE it was, and still is a stand out song, and a unique song, as is Leona, a unique artist. It sold so well because it ISNT an everyday female RnB song, and Leona isnt an everyday female rnb artist.

Success doesnt equal a classic, i am aware of that thank you, but it is a FACTOR of what makes up a classic.

Bleeding Love is, (and okay if you think it takes years to call a song a classic WILL BE) a classic. End of really.

I'm afraid he's possessed by leona's spirit to understand it.

You said that a few posts back. -_-

But to answer the question you first posted, it just showed me if you like Lights On and not Bleeding Love what your music taste is, thats all. :P

Lets try and calm it down guys. Didnt think this game would cause such debate lol
Kanye West - Stronger

Mika - Grace Kelly (For the 3rd/4th time). :drama:

-

Round 11 - Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend - 16%

Round 12 - Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love - 16%

Some of the best songs from each year always go out so early...

IMO Bleeding Love is not yet CLASSIC song, but it's definitely one of the greatest songs last 5 years.. In the 10 years I think it will be classic song, especially in the UK.
