Cheers to oldbloke for the data. :)

Take That only had the one new release out during 2010 ... so I'm assuming the other 300,000+ sales were for RTW, Never Forget and (a tiny amount) for SOS. You've no idea in that case how many sales RTW has in total now have you?

Thanks by the way for the lists.

Kath

Last known estimates I've heard of have "RTW" at 785,000.

Cheers ... I'd hoped they might be a bit more than that. I can't imagine where the bulk of those 300,000 sales are from then.

I remember "Kidz" selling a bit when the album was released & when they performed it live once. Must have sold a good decent amount there too?

The OCC counts all album tracks sold too which is what can make up the bulk of pondering sales.

It was SOS, not Kidz. They had to abandon doing Kidz because of the 'student' troubles. Even then ... it only made the lower reaches of the top 100 so that could surely only have accounted for 5,000 max. To be honest ... I think RTW has sold over 800K now (it was on that 700K figure over two years ago).

Kath

I could have sworn the OCC said Rihanna has sold over 3mil singles?

I suppose they were probably including LTWYL and this isn't?

Last known estimates I've heard of have "RTW" at 785,000.

I'd assume the total would include their entire back-catalogue.

I'd assume the total would include their entire back-catalogue.

I was just wondering which of their songs made up what proportion of the 'extra' 300K. Given the amount of times RTW has been played still, over the last year ... I'd assume that this song will have made up at least a quarter of it ... thus taking its total sales well over the 800K mark.

Anyway ... its a moot point now, they've moved on to pastures new and I'm sure it won't be notching up any more sales anytime soon.

Kath

I'd assume collabarations aren't included as Bruno Mars would be a LOT higher...

So Rihanna sold the most records combined last year then :o Never thought that would be the case 5 years ago :heehee:

wowwwww. . . westlife were no.1 10 years before??? I wanna cry!!!!!

02 - 2,022,338 - Glee Cast - AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

CBEEBIES rubbish :puke2: :puke2: :puke2:

Edited by euro music

thanks for these Buster- Rihanna really does incredible feats, I forget sometimes when I call her unlucky for having so many number 2s

really glad Ellie sold over a million singles :D

Rihanna got #1 even without Love the Way You Lie! :o

I was thinking, Pitbull probably would've made the top 50 if collabs were included in the list (which I think I should be to be honest, but it's not up to me!)!

Wasn't there talk of adding the X Factor songs into the year end charts or at least release details of how well they sold after the final??

It would appear rihanna doesn't get the benefit of love the way you lie which is a shame. Worse for katie perry though- she misses what must be around 800k from her timbo and 3oh3 collabs. However, if this is true beyonce sold over half a mil without telephone! With no album since 2008 and i dont think any singles last year? Wow great cherrypicks!

Should be included though, very unfair. Think they normally are in terms of total sales (guiness/virgin/occ)?

Note the beatles dont make the singles list despite selling about 280k in 1st 5 days from memory

She did have two top (new) 100 singles - Ego & Why Don't You Love, me plus Halo, Single Ladies, If I Were A Boy, Sweet Dreams, and to a lesser extent Video Phone & Broken-Hearted Girl from last year, and then there's the tons of other catelogued tracks which perk up after media coverage such as X Factor (with At Last & I'd Rather Go Blind picking up sales), if you look at the iTunes top 1000 she always has several entries, (7 at the mo), but I'm surprised as well that's high without Telephone.

Beyoncé stats in the top 100 for last year:

Beyoncé Ego 60 62 77

Beyoncé Halo 86 45 59 66 85

Beyoncé Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) 71 83 85 80 60 45 64 70 61 72 82 69 79 95 88 75 84 95 84 83 90 95

Beyoncé Sweet Dreams 75 91 96

Beyoncé Video Phone 58 64 82 98

Beyoncé Why Don't You Love Me? 71 51 82

Total of 40 weeks in the top 100 with 6 releases (also obviously loads of cherry-pick sales outside the top 100)

I've not included 'Telephone' here which adds another 43 weeks to her total. 83 weeks in the top 100 isn't too bad for an artist who hasn't released an album since 2008.

EDIT: Just remembered the OCC 2010 period excludes the first week so 3 weeks of the above don't count. Telephone remains on 43 weeks so that's 80 weeks in the top 100 for her 'officially'.
