I can't believe they didn't win Best Album at the Brits. Surely that's a joke

I'm just happy the Brits finally gave them BEST BRISTISH GROUP, I didn't think that would ever happen. :yahoo:

just looked thru itunes and kidz is number 36 and the live performace is number 47...

Tbh I don't think that performance will do a huge lot for the song. It wasn't a 'wow' moment of the show and seems to be one of the less talked about performances of the night.

I'd agree - it was ok but somehow I was expecting more given the hype (and the song.)

My highlight was Cee Lo Green and Paloma Faith. I can't understand some people in the main thread slagging it off - it was really good and totally live.

He was great, she was horrendous. I'm actually a fan of Paloma but she seemed to be singing in a key that didn't suit the song and her voice was massively clashing with Cee Lo's. The first half where it was just him was imo much better.

But I didn't think much of the Kidz performance either. Adele was the show stealer for me.

I disagree about Paloma - I really liked the fact that you could hear her harmonizing (sure it was rough as a bag of spanners on some notes) but I liked the performance - from them both. At least you could tell that it was live (unlike one or two of the other acts last night.)

I liked Adele too. She fluffed one or two notes too (due to emotion) but that made it even more endearing and touching.

Someone has called Adele today's Alison Moyet. Well I love Alison Moyet - but I have to say I actually like Adele's voice more.

Fair enough, I had to turn it down towards the end though, she was really starting to irritate me!

I agree, that's an interesting comparison and I can see where they're coming from with that. I've always loved Adele's voice but I didn't think the material on her first album was all that great save for about three songs. 21 on the other hand is fantastic. Someone Like You is stunning and you can really feel the emotion and sentiment behind the song as she sings it (probably because she wrote it!). Not quite the same connection coming from Rihanna singing about chains and whips exciting her on a song that somebody else has written for her

i like paloma, it was an ok performance but it didnt trigger anything special in me, i was just glad to see her perform really.

Hopefully with the live version now avaiulable they might just enter the top 40 on sunday, id be happy with that plus i can see the album been around #6 aswell this week.

Apart from the dancers undressing (ok, i understand the message, but annoys me something like this) i liked very much. My stream was bad, but i think Mark sang it very well and it was a dark atmosphere about the choreography, which i liked (perhaps that is way i like Reaching out).

I only saw Adele till my streaming was dead for good, but while i like her voice i think her song is boring.

I thought the exact same, but getting back on topic Kidz (the album version) is at number 30 and Kidz (Brits) is at 33

so combined where are we looking at presently chart wise?

Edited by jay727

I never get how the combined works i used to think say in this case for example 30+33=63 AND 63/2 = 31.1 so that would be #31 but it doesnt work that way, also we have to remember itunes is the only download site that counts towards the charts, however i do think kidz is on track to enter the top 40 on sunday.

Looking at the pop bars (although not entirely reliable because the top couple of songs are just so far ahead) then if TT's two combined versions sales were added - they'd probably be just inside the top 20 (iTunes) chart. I'd say if they continue - then they may make the lower part of the top 30 this Sunday in the proper chart. Not very good really and its going to badly effect next week's sales.

The album should do quite well out of it though.

The phyisical will give the single a good boost for next weeks chart, hard to predict at this stage what kidz peak will be but id like think they should manage top 15, looks like another up all night, still though the album will benefit well from it and think take thats fan know aprt from the lead singles on their album none of the follow ups will be huge hits, its so strange in some ways that first time round they were mainly a singles act although their albums did well, where 2nd time round they are a albums act with singles doing reasonably well, from that perspective the flood as done great business (and rightly so) and although this time they arent mainly a singles act they have still managed quite a few very decent selling singles.

yeahh i mean rule the world has gotta be around the 800k mark now or perhaps more, patience has sold roughly 600k and the flood cant be too far away from 500k now, then you've got greatest day and shine at around 350k each so thats not bad at all

i cant remember what the first week sales for up all night were....but if i recall correctly didnt it hit no.14 and stay in the same place the week after before falling? and kidz is far superior to up all night so we should be looking top 15 i hope

just wish the single was out this week and then they could have added 20 or 30 thousand to the sales at the moment and been looking at maybe even top 10

you would think that someone at their management team would get the hang of this promo lark...i mean are there even any planned performances or promo for next week? it'll be absolutely stupid if the next promo is the comic relief night a while month away :/

P.S Kidz has been placed on the Radio 1 A Playlist so with any luck that will help boost airplay the week before and during its release.

I'm certain I read somewhere they are performing on Dancing On Ice, not sure when, but it will get Kidz a boost.

Kidz is at number 32 at the moment in the midweeks

everyone is raving about Adele storming the charts (and good luck to her!) but Take That's Progress sold the same number as 21 has to date in one week so taking that into consideration and the two million people that already have the album entering at 32 isnt bad a week before release. :)

Edited by jay727

All going well they will be top 30 on sunday although i have a feeling they will just miss out and be number 31, i see what you are saying about adele album sales but take that would have had the advantage as it was chrsitmas time, dont get me wrong im not knocking take that but the comparison are very different. Adele isnt nearly as big as take that and also the time of year she released usually is a low time for sales so considering the climate she sold well. Take That on the other hand sold brilliantly and i agree what they sold in a week adele sold in a month but in a way its almost expected of take that now to sell so huge as they such a large fanbase.

i THINK the album selling so huge and so quick the singles have suffered for it but conssidering the strong album performance their singles still do reasonably well.

Yeah which is a shame because there are some seriously strong contenders for singles off Progress, Kidz being a great track along with at least another 4 songs that could easily chart in respectable positions.

Maybe thats why its been announced that along with 'Rocket Ship' they are also including a track called 'Revenge Of The Kidz' to boost single sales >>>>>> http://www.takethat.com/news/2011/02/kidz-out-on-monday

I also expect them to debut the Kidz video on the day of release to drum up some impulse buying from fans which is a very good idea!

P.S just heard Rocket Ship and its a strong song, Gary has the lead vocals

Edited by jay727

I look forward to rocket ship as every now and again they come up with some great b sides, b sides are great for fans who buy the phyisical as it just makes buying the phyisical far more worth while and also adds value for money.
