i didnt get to watch the show so im wondering the same thing?

Pete are you thinking of Comic Relief? It isn't until next Friday!

Kath

i was sure it was this friday, im so far behind with tv etc that i didnt look it up properly.

The song Take That are doing with Fake That on Comic Relief is 'Happy Now'. I don't know if they'll be doing Kidz as well (I hope not actually - I think they should just let things lie now with Kidz and put it down to experience.)

Can't wait to hear what they do with Happy Now - its one of my favourites from the album.

Kath

So does that mean Happy Now is the third single?

I'm not sure. In its own right it won't be a single - but maybe the comedy version they're doing with Fake That will be available for download with the proceeds going to CR. They usually do have an 'official' and an 'unofficial' CR song - maybe this is the unofficial one this year.

Then again - maybe they're just using it for the comedy sketch.

BTW - I think they'll be doing Kidz as well.

Yeah I think they'll be performing Kidz either way but its strange how they have pushed Happy Now literally right after the official 2nd single....maybe this is their way of bringing out a third single from the original Progress and leaving the path clear for a new single from tour edition Progress in May/June time

Id love them to perform both songs although i still cant see it cahnging the fortunes of kidz although it will help sustain sales, its hard to know if happy now will be released as didnt they do the same with the garden 2 years ago, performed it but didnt release it. The wanted have the offical single this year and isnt peter kay and susan boyle doing the non offical one, hopefully happy now is the third single regardless, the single will keep the album floating in the top 20 but as a single it wont do great, it doesnt matter what they choose as third single as it wont do thast great anyway.

I was hoping they'd not go for a third single to be honest. I'd only be happy ( ) if Happy Now was available to downloaded ONLY in its comedy form (i.e. with Fake That and Take That - like The Proclaimers & Lou & Andy's 5,000 miles a few years back) and NOT from the album.

Double posted for some reason!

Yeah I agree with Kath I would be more than happy for the Comic Relief form of the song to be downloaded over the Progress version, hopefully it can make top 10 like Said It All if the public enjoy it on Friday

Im not too sure about Susan Boyle and Peter Kay, apparently it is released a couple of weeks after Comic Relief and judging by the strange choice of single I don't see it doing particularly well chartwise

:o We agree on something!

PS - have you read about Rob's new solo contract - if true - its with Universal - Take That's label.

LOL yeah it is amazing! haha

yehh i read about Robbie, but we knew that was going to happen, he is too big an artist to give it all up and just be the fifth member of Take That full time

I think that the way it will probably work will be that Rob releases a solo album next year and then Take That will release an album the year after etc etc

I can still see Rob being involved in future Take That material, even if he appears on 2 or 3 of the songs on their 7th studio album he will still be there or thereabouts especially if he signs with Universal as they know Robbie with Take That will sell in Europe............what im interested in is where Take That will go after they complete Progress Live this year, Im guessing they wont be able to top it so ill they go back to arenas or stick to stadiums?

The robbie solo deal is no surprise apart from it being with the same label as take that,i suppose that could be viewed as quite a positive as if they werent really getting on he would have probably kept away from the same recording company as them, but that aside i think we all knew robbie with take that was short erm,and it has worked out well to date and they have pulled it off, lets hope they can do the same throughout the tour.
#31 in the UK this week, so hopefully the comic relief performance may help stay top 40 for another week

and perhaps peak a bit higher?

I'm not sure the reunion was all that had been hoped. I mean - since Rob's been back - Take That haven't had a number 1 single (yes I know that singles aren't everything). Sales of Progress overseas haven't been that great and there are still a load of tickets going for the European gigs. I think people do prefer the two acts as separate entities and I really hope that as long as they stay friends - Rob doesn't return to the band again after this stint. I hope he just stays solo. As much as I like the tunes on Progress (barring the couple of songs I've said I dislike) I'm having difficulty with the words. They just don't go with Take That - they're too old to be singing anarchic songs. I was listening to Kidz on the radio today and for the first time in ages - I switched over - it just seemed 'forced'.

Kath

Kidz is number 35 in the midweeks so its holding quite steady, should hold in or around that position for sunday as comic relief should help give it even a small boost.

The album has plummeted this week though down 17 places to #35.
